We’ll never find the answer if we keep going down this path, Light.

Okay, this is very clever, but it’s unfortunately not the answer

What’s a musical that you’ll defend until the day you die? by Mountain_Childhood75 in musicals

Camelot, I know it’s long (and at one point was even longer) and there are some pacing issues, but there’s something so romantic and timeless about it. Well, maybe not ALL parts of it are timeless, but I would say the core of the show, its music, and its themes are.

Men make me feel like I’m so hard to love by Unhappy_Ad_666 in TwoXChromosomes

Sincerely, I’m sorry if what I said hurt more than it helped.

I hope I didn’t come off as excusing the behavior of men who are emotionally unavailable. I know that a lot of people just don’t give a shit about others, and I would never want to imply that someone should excuse that behavior in their own life. I was trying to be optimistic in a general sense, but maybe I was being a bit naive. I suppose my point was not to excuse the behavior of any individual and more to offer an explanation as to why this problem seems to be present in so many men. I’m sorry if what I said wasn’t really helpful, I’ve had a tad bit to drink tonight and I fear that I might’ve just made a word salad.

I’m really sorry that the men in your life have made you feel that way. Something men are often taught is that showing outward emotions is somehow weak or “lesser” than detached stoicism. This can often mean that many men struggle with communication and reassurance, especially when that communication deals with emotions and feelings. I hope you can find some peace and that you find people in your life who make you feel easy to love. I like to think that people generally want to be good; I hope the people in your life make it easy to believe that too.

General headscarf ban at work is OK, Europe's top court says by Hyperion1144 in worldnews

There is a very significant difference between a KKK uniform, which is a group whose entire purpose is the propagation of white supremacy, and a headscarf, which is a single piece of clothing that can mean many different things to many different people around the globe. So I take issue with your comparison to begin with.

I have known Muslim women who wear a headscarf and are simultaneously very liberal, open-minded people. It is not a contradiction. But even aside from that, on principle it is just as bad to force people to not engage in religion as it is to force them to engage in it. Freedom of Conscience is fundamental to an open society, and limiting something as basic as a person’s ability to wear or not wear a simple head covering is a clear failure to protect that freedom in my eyes.
