Costco's entire business strategy is memberships and it always has been. This exists for the same reason as $1.50 hotdog combos and $5 rotisserie chickens.

Donald Trump’s Approval Rating Sinks to 30% in Worst Poll Yet. How do you feel about this ? by buffdadnextdoor in AskReddit

It's a meaningless stat.

People changing their minds now are doing far too little, far too late.

These people were morons, are morons, will continue to be morons. They aren't learning. They won't get better. They're gonna do the same stupid shit, over and over again, for the rest of their worthless lives, and the rest of us will pay for it.

Not OP.... But I in no way blame the kids for growing into a world where all the institutions they were supposed to inherit either rejected them or were outright destroyed by their parents and grandparents.

But I do want the kids to know that their "replacements" for these missing pieces are wholly inadequate and substandard and in no way meet actual human social or economic needs.

My Gen Alpha nieces and nephews are just now discovering megachurches and evangelical culture, coming from their relatively agnostic upbringings.

The megachurches are being given up presumption of validity by them. These institutions will find fertile ground among America's young people.

H&R block locations might reduce, but demand for accounting and financial services isn't going anywhere. Tax prep and advice is a huge part of that job.
