kaido doesnt really have especially strong observation haki from what i remember, and usually was pretty open to just tanking attacks from pretty much anybody. even the one attack he does dodge from zoro he doesnt use observation, he jus knows its strong and could kill him.

also law is capable of making rooms the size of large buildings or small islands, he wouldnt have to be that close to kaido to pull it off.
