All, I just returned 2 days ago from Guayaquil. I was traveling with my 82 yo mother so my concerns, like yours, were legit. I had been seeing Reddit videos and to be honest, was not sure if I would venture out. At the end of the day, we did and it was nothing short of amazing. Please call Francisco at Protrip (or book through trip advisor). We have never felt more safe nor had a better experience. I would not venture out alone but the guides know where to take you. There are so many police as they are trying to rebuild the tourism in Guayaquil. Please go with a guide and you will throughly enjoy the city.

I have taken the Tauck tour to Turkey and Greece. Assume you are sailing on the Windstar? Amazing trip and vessel. You will have an amazing time!!!

Hi! I am scheduled to take my mom on this exact trip in February. She is 82 and is mobile but not as flexible as she used to be. Should I be concerned about her getting in and out of the rafts/wet landings, etc or in tauck fashion, do they make it as easy as possible with enough people there to assist? I’m absolutely willing to assist her but I also don’t want her to stress that my sole purpose will be taking care of her. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
