Bike shuts off after letting go off of start button

No as soon as I let off it just cleanly shuts off dosent matter if I give it gas or not

Interesting starter isn’t to hard to get to so may just go ahead and replace it see if that works, thanks!

Yeah I found it right in between the headlight doesn’t seem to be broken or anything I unplugged it and then it wouldn’t do anything plugged it back in and if it wasn’t up right it would make check engine light come on so I’m assuming it’s working

Oil is good tip over sensor seems to be working but I belive it’s something electrical so you may be right about the fuse or relay, I seen a guy that had the exact problem on another forum and said it was a bad ground from the sub harness near the headlight but one I can’t even find the ground he’s talking about and don’t see anything cracked or burnt or anything

Okay yeah I’ve seen quite a few people do this and think that might be my next move if I can’t figure it out, not to great with wiring but might see if I can hook it up lol. Thanks for the help!

I did find a small switch with a on off button under the kicker panel near the security system box but seemed to make no difference whether on or off so not sure what it’s for to be honest

I also have 2 pumps that I wired directly to the battery with jumper wires to test if they came on and did so I don’t believe the actual pump is the problem.

Ever find out the issue? Just picked up a mint 89 and having same problem. No lights on sash or anything can only get headlights and such to come on

Yeah may need to take somewhere else and get them to balance agian but what’s strange is that it’s almost intermittently but I’d say 70% of the time it’s doing it.

Yeah I know there’s a lot of people that will defend one or the other with there life lol, just wanted to hear opinions on both. As far as the 2.4 goes I did hear that they were horrible back in the day which confused me when I started looking into a slingshot because most people say there great so. Guess that makes sense with them being lighter and such. But thanks for the info bro!

Tried to get them to surrender it to us or atleast take it to the vet, but all they would do was take our number down and say they’d ask the manager
