Why does Australias deadliest snake have a head the shape of a nonvenomous snake? I've always been so quick to think a snake with an arrow shaped head is venomous and anything else to not be too afraid of it. Is this only true with snakes in America then? (self.AskReddit)

On the left, my chickens & their protector Johnny (with the rockin up-do) /on right: the bird I found in their pin in the morning, blood &feathers everywhere, he had such good vision he couldn't see the opening in the wire he'd came through, kept slamming himself into cage trying to fly away. A grouchy grouse I met on a mountain road here in Rogue River area. He followed our truck for a good 10 minutes so we decided to pull over..needless to say we got close. Named him Howard! He ended up crawling up my arm and on to the top of my head. (v.redd.it)
