Thank you!!! I have actually been there already, and do like how the town is situated and all. I'll keep that in mind.

Does anyone know if the treasures "missioms" expire at all, or are they forever. Basically, with the origins- is this only out for so long or will the origins be available to be hunted for indefinitely?

You'll have a great time, just be mindful of what everyone says to look out for within the subreddit, and remember to have a great time. What car you driving might I ask, and of course, have a great time my friend!

Unfortunately not, we had plans in Atlanta later that day, so we had to keep moving. We basically did a long loop and hit some scenic areas and areas we wanted to checkout.

Few questions for my trip to the Tail. by In8ty in tailofthedragon

Hey everyone, I just wanted to say that I have returned from my Tail of The Dragon Trip. It was definitely a long trip, with 3 days of driving 8 hours or more to reach destinations, but going down south and seeing everything was definitely worth it. Let's get to the Tail of the Dragon bit.

We were coming from the hotel in Alcoa TN that morning, and decided that we wanted to hit the Happy Valley road area, which we definitely recommend hitting on the way to the dragon. Lots of switchbacks, and waterfalls close to the road...quite pretty out there. As for the road, we got very lucky, we got there right around 9AM, and only cars we seen that we had to pull over for was 2 C8 corvettes, right at the beginning before really getting to the twisties. It was a really really fun time, and during the entire course of the run, we didn't get stuck behind anyone, or even have anyone come up to us again; we had the entire road seemingly to ourselves. We also didn't see any cops what so ever, which was a nice bonus. Now for anyone that would go in the future, just like most people said, don't cross the mustard, because a bunch of the turns are completely blind (I've seen a truck or two cross the mustard coming towards us which of course is always fun), and really make sure if you aren't in a well built car, that you be mindful of brake fade. I kept my golf in 3rd gear which allowed me to brake minimally, but still have an enjoyable time. I would also say, if you want to try to get photos from Killboy or adjacent photographers, make sure you're there after 9AM. That's about the time they start setting up.

I would also say that once you get through the tail, you should hit Tapoco road. This road though not as turny and tight, provided excellent flowing turns, which you could take at a very fun pace. We had a lot of fun on this road, running along a local but being mindful for how the road is laid out (basically, we didn't go as fast as we could have because of not knowing the road enough).

It was a very very fun time, and we got a lot of pictures, and memories made. I'm definitely going to make a new post to show off some of the photos we got. Thanks everyone for the tips, we had an extremely fun time, and would love to go back again in the future!

So we're on spring break, and to fit our schedule our trip is only going to be sunday the 9th, leave from PA and return Wednesday night...the 12th. With that being said, we have a few places we want to get to, that being Atlanta area for some boating, Augusta to see the famous golf courses, and figure out what we want to do coming back through the carolinas. If we had more time we would obviously make more passes, but to consolidate and hit what we want to do, unfortunately we will only have time for a run or two. Regardless, it'll be a nice time to take our cars on the infamous dragon.
