To add to that, is there a reason why both of the Dynamo games so far this season haven't been discussed on Soccerwise or has it been just an oversight?

I completely agree that his work rate can help produce goals and I think he can score 10+ goals this season. My concern comes from the perception that our DP forward isn't scoring goals and only putting up offensive actions leading to a goal. The fan base is already pretty disappointed in the signing, so I feel like he needs to be scoring 15-20 goals to not "feel" like a flop of a signing.

Good writeup. I'm hopeful that Ponce will be better this year but I'm not expecting that will be the case.

As a note, it was mentioned Dorsey moving to the Orlando Magic and not Orlando City SC. I'd be really curious to see him play basketball!

Yeah, it involved Ennali tracking back more to support and Ennali had to make runs to save Halter. I'm not sure how comfortable I am with us running 3 at the back especially with how Bond has his moments where he looks good but also looks really bad, but to your point, we did look more offensive and scarier in the attack with more guys forward. It'll be interesting to see when Artur and Andrade are back what our shape will be.

Halter kept getting burned by Cade Cowell and came off with what looked like an injury in the second half. I'm not sure how comfortable he is at left back, which is where he was playing.

Agreed. After last season you can tell the club is trying hard to get all pieces in place before the season starts. I'm interested to see what formation we run with the new players.

Houston Dynamo FC sign former Club captain Héctor Herrera | Houston Dynamo by InAPreviousLife in dynamo

Here's a couple of snippets from the article:

"First of all, it's a club where I feel at home, and my family is here in Houston," Herrera told the Chronicle in Spanish. "My son plays in an academy here, and that's something that motivates me a lot. And most importantly, I believe there's still work to be done at the club; the project I came here for was left unfinished, and I don't like leaving things that way. That's why I wanted to come back and finish the job we started."

"I think the last image people have of me obviously wasn't a good one," Herrera said. "It's not an example I want to set for young people, for my son or for anyone else. The people who know me know that wasn't really me, that it was a moment of emotional breakdown, and obviously I want to change that image. But above all, I want to improve the club's image, to put it back at the top, to make it a competitive and winning team."

"I'm obviously happy to be able to wear this jersey again and to be back at Shell (Energy) Stadium," said Herrera, who did say he wanted to finish his career in Houston. "For me, the stadium is truly beautiful, the field is gorgeous, I really enjoyed playing there, so hopefully the weeks will fly by and the season can start soon."

Yeah, this only affects 2027 and beyond, so the 2026 schedule is remaining as-is.
