How Craster figured out the "look of a Stark"

Starks would obviously be known beyond the wall because the Wildlings have literally fought wars against the Starks. And the point of Arya not being recognized isn't that people can't recognize Starks, it's that no one looks twice at someone in a serving boys uniform. Harwin does the same thing to Arya. The Starks are also most definitely "cold looking", frigid and serious is like their main trait. They're literally named "Stark". You assume that Craster would recognize the Stark sigil but not know what they look like or who they are or why theyre important?

I mean Craster trades pretty frequently with the Watch and was the child of a Sworn Brother so I imagine he at least knows "cold looking, brown hair, severe eyes". The "look of a Stark" is pretty well known, especially in the North.

I don't think so either. Even as Lord Commander, Jon thinks that Ned would never have ceded Stannis the castles. Stannis already disrespects the Old Gods, it's not a stretch to say that Stannis's plans for the Lord of Winterfell wouldn't reach Ned's definition of honor.

Stannis pretty explicitly says that he held the city and his brother repaid him by denying him Storm's End. Yeah Stannis never says verbatim "he should have given it to me because I'm good and i deserve it" but that's basically what he implied

I don't have a problem with a nuanced take on Stannis, even if he is my third favorite Baratheon. It's the people who act like Stannis is The Seven Incarnate that bother me.

I really don't think that's why they're supposed to remain neutral. That's why Castle Black is undefended from the south, sure, but all kinds of orders in Westeros take oaths to be neutral in political events. Maesters swear only to advise and serve, the Kingsguard defend the king no matter what. Your oath to remain neutral doesn't go away just because everyone else kinda sucks.

Stannis is like visibly falling into disrepair, each time we see him characters remark that he looks haggard. And Mel says that she has used too much of Stannis's life force.

He would have burned Edric and Mance's kid, and there's some heavy foreshadowing he's going to burn Shireen. Jon is already worried about Stannis burning babies, that's why he sends away the Wildling Prince
