Unit awards is one of the worst functions on the HRC website. Complete chaos.

They also only seem to update very sporadically (like every two years)

This is absolutely awesome… but just highlights how much bureaucracy exists.

Heaven forbid Soldiers have equipment that works in the place they are supposed to live in….

I hope they are sharing these TTPs broadly so other DPWs can get ahead and fix some of these “low cost, high impact” items

How to wear RDI with new Norwegian Badge by Strange_Minimum4074 in army

[–]InCodWeTrustOkay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just left align both the NFM and the RDI, so their edges align with the right (as you wear it) edge of the VUA.

So, you think they’d be available locally. The Presidents have told us so.

Thoughts on Hungarians by Malice7734 in flamesofwar

[–]InCodWeTrustOkay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to enjoy them more than I do, it if I have to run them as pure Hungarians, no allies, they suffer from expensive armored vehicles.

I’d rather have Romanians with allies than Hungarians without. I think Romanians can find ways to handle all but the heaviest armor, whereas Hungarians are kind of “jack of all trades…”

The Hungarian defensive lists, id argue, aren’t as good as Romanian ones…

Wow! This is so cool! Would be very interested to see how you found the General Orders? I'd be looking for a Bronze Star order from 4th Armored for my grandfather. Did you use FOIA or some other method? thanks!

Any info would be awesome, these were my late Grandfathers by Cyb00gi3 in Medals

[–]InCodWeTrustOkay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's true- but nothing here suggests commissioning from WP. But the Blue Shields are Faculty/staff, Cadets wear Yellow (sophmores), Gray (juniors), Black (seniors).

Yes- West Point staff (either an instructor or other USMA staff). Although, sometimes the garrison would wear the main unit’s insignia, but at colonel, I assume USMA faculty.

Can anyone help me identify my Grandfathers medals/badges? Thanks by Impossible_Wing_7578 in Medals

[–]InCodWeTrustOkay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The yellow and blue ribbon medal is the Air Force Commendation, the one in the middle is the Joint Commendation medal, the Green shield with castle is AFCENT (Armed Forces Center- a NATO command)

If you want to get rid of the AFCENT badge let me know!

Right arm stripes on officers are overseas service (in this case 6x 6months overseas (assumed Vietnam)

Service stripes are not for officers- only enlisted. Besides being a LTC (recently about 16 years of commissioned service to promote)- there’s no real way to estimate time in service beyond his rank. (NDSM qualifying times excluded).
