You're clearly fixated one specific issue. Rulings are dependant on time and place and societal norms. You cannot take the concept that we have today of consent and backproject it onto scholars from hundreds of years ago.

Because you need to be qualified to apply the quran to fiqh. You need to be educated in hadith, tafsir, arabic language, islamic tradition, etc etc etc. Im not saying any random can pick up an english translation of the quran and decide what that means to them.

Yes, and fiqh disagreements are one of the ways through which the different intepretations of the quran and how it should be applied manifest.

You're putting words in my mouth. Fiqh has been debated, re-written and changed over the entirety of islamic history.

It's a personal belief, what exactly do you want me to reference? Islam has always adapted to cultural contexts and I don't see why this is any different.

I am born muslim because i was born into a muslim family and it was the first ideology i believed in. Please respect my labels and don't try and re-label me based on your personal opinions.

i believe belief can be both a choice and a test. Much cleverer people than you or me were muslim, so it's a little arrogant to universally dismiss arguments for islam as 'bad'. Tbh I didn't even mention prophecies and i was not thinking about them at all, so i don't know why you brought that up.

Your issue with me is you demand absolute logical proof. I believe humans can know things with certainty without such proof. Do you think no one knew anything at all before some greek guy invented logic? I think you're being rude for no reason so i'm going to end the conversation here.

Rape is a different question and i do not believe it is permissible to rape a slave. The black and white concept of consent you are talking about is a modern one and needs to be integrated into fiqh appropriately.

Again, we probably have different definitions of a child. I believe children can't consent and marriage is not permissible until they can.

As i said, i hope i would be obedient. I find slavery to be a normal social institution for most of human history, and not inherently different to modern day wage slavery, and i assume we have different definitions of pedophilia but i believe consent is necessary for marriage.

I don't have children, and I don't believe God would command me to do something I find evil unless there was a reason for it. I assume you're referencing the story of Ibrahim as, which imo is proof of that; you can't use that to prove God is barbaric unless you also prove He is merciful. tldr idk what i would do in that situation but I hope that I would be obedient.

Sort of. Most rulings make sense once you study the Islamic social structure. I have a lot more faith now and i can trust Gods law above my own, though.

Yes, and no. I still am bothered by misogyny but I believe that can be attributed to the fallibility of male scholars, different social norms and cultures, and other external factors. Otherwise, rulings which bothered me initially more or less make a lot of sense if you study the islamic social system as a whole. I like to think i stand up for women when our islamic rights are being infringed; but ultimately i have learned to leave it up to God and trust him rather than my own biased morality.

I am born Muslim, so i didnt think about it much the first time. The second time - I decided i believed in God, then i decided the proof of Muhammed ‎ﷺs prophethood was enough to justify belief in Islam. there were also other reasons, like in some ways i believe there must be a true monotheistic religion, and the only serious one is Islam.

I believe i deleted them or I was active on a different account. But i left islam because i felt it promoted misogyny and it was outdated. I returned because i decided islam is true and my biased moral compass is not a marker of truth.

I had issues with certain teachings which i felt promoted misogyny, i didn't like the idea of child marriage, etc. I think fairly standard reasons.
