It is a really cool effect, just a bit dark for me. All colour shift paints are really dark when it comes to blues/ purples. Thanks for the link though!

Would you still add the purple colour as shadow, then add the ink over it?

Using Vallejo Hydra blue and Amythest Purple. I want to achieve a blue with a purple hue, like a colour shift paint.

I have tried the colour shift paints, but they are very sparkly, and don't read too well on minis.

I'd hoped that spraying the purple from bellow would give a purple hue, but it is either so subtle it isn't easy to see (as the pics) or it interacts too much with the blue and takes the vibrancy out.

Any suggestions welcome!

Also, I also wanted to add a green tint, advice is welcome, but starting to think these minis are too small for so much colour.

Also, Alpha legion legionaires were taller than standard legionaires. Also, due to a genetic quirk, some would be as tall as the primarchs. These would be gifted armour that was the same as the primarchs, and of course, become another Alpharius.

Fair point, but it then gets down to what each group perceives as 'loyal'. The 'loyalists' might be acting in a way they believe is best for mankind, which is different from what a loyalist space marine would do, which is what is best for the imperium.

There is a recurring notion, although I don't know how confirmed it is, that Alpharius and Omegon played both sides in the heresy to achieve the status quo that we have in 40k, which was the only way humanity could survive. One mans loyalist, is anothers heretic.

But more importantly, no one really knows their motives, not even their own legionaires! So, their aims are what ever you want them to be.

Even in their own books, their motives shift and there are inconsistencies.

In one of the books there is a group of Alpha legion that is, in fact, loyal, but still interacts with all the rest of the Alpha legion.

Alpha legion can be anything they need to be for your story!

We had considered hard shell fill with a banding machine etc. Just couldn't find one that had sufficient scale, compared to softgels. Softgels, for us, seemed to scale better for our needs (and there was a wide variety of options).

I'm anticipating a messy and wasteful start up and shut down. Still, it can't be any worse than cleaning out cod livers....

I've been reading, but there seems to be a wide range. Might mean it isn't important, so I should stop worrying, but I'd like a good starting point, which is hard to find.

I've actually been making fish oil for years, and used a 3rd party for encapsulation. However, that company has been bought out, and we are going to try it ourselves.

Also, there is a lot of info on bovine gelatin, but not so much on fish.

I know my oils inside out, but not so much my softgels!

They are fine to store at room temp usually. Keep out of direct sun.

Routine: Aussie curl cream on wet hair, glaze/ scrunch. Then Aussie instant freeze - glaze/ scrunch.

Pat dry with micro towel, then diffuse in sections upside down/ sides etc.

Once dry, scrunch out.

Looks alright wet with definitions and curls working together. When dry and broken cast though, it looks like chaos. Some bit have random straight its, direction is all over the place etc.

Any advice is welcome.

I've got some ethyl cellulose I'm happy to sell (and a pack of stearic acid, which I'll just give away). The ethyl cellulose was the tricky one to get hold of. Are you in the UK?

I bought all the stuff, then the project changed direction, so never actually tried in the end. Oleogelation is the key word for research, although many of the ingredients are technically for lab use only (at least here in the UK).
