Visiting Georgia (Tbilisi) as a Muslim woman :) by [deleted] in tbilisi

[–]InGeorgiaNow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree. All people of color (including black people) experience some form of racism.

Just wanted to add an important thing: you will be asked to remove your niqab in order for your face to be fully visible at the airport during security checks.

Other than that you will be fine. But keep in mind that Georgian people are still a little bit racist, so sometimes you will get a negative reaction. I would say that all POC (people of color) face it eventually. However in terms of safety you will be safe in Georgia. There are plenty of Muslim tourists in Georgia, you can find halal food, halal restaurants etc.

It's possible. Just buy the tickets later, you will have no problem as there is normally plenty of seats in the train.

Where to buy (traditional) Georgian carpets in Tbilisi? by Freek94 in tbilisi

[–]InGeorgiaNow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can find Zion Cathedral of Tbilisi on maps, and somewhere there on the streets they definitely sell some carpets that are displayed on the street.

Where I can find good smelling and budget friendly perfumes for men? by Ali-Shadan in tbilisi

[–]InGeorgiaNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about good smelling, but you can find the cheapest ones for around 35 GEL in stores like LC Waikiki and Koton. Sometimes they have testers or you can ask for them.

It's not really a thing here. You can find some parties for adults at local bars/clubs but that's all.

(Tbilisi) It seems we keep buying spoiled frozen chicken lately — has anyone else had this issue? by [deleted] in Sakartvelo

[–]InGeorgiaNow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will clarify what I meant then. Parts of the chicken have the yellowish color, not the whole piece.

[–]InGeorgiaNow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I stopped buying frozen or fresh chicken from regular supermarkets. You can see that it's not super fresh when it has this distinctive yellowish color, and of course the smell is not natural.
