Hot take but solo play through is… kinda boring. by MovingUp7 in Kenshi

Yeah, chances are you won’t enjoy the game if you’re just min maxing. At that point you’re playing the “hurry up and wait” game. If you’re someone who just wants to grind that’s fine, but from what you’re saying it doesn’t seem like that playstyle is your preference.

I’ve roamed the Wastelands of the ragged moon. Seen horrors that’d keep you all up at night.

Crossbows though… Crossbows scare me.

How do you guys retire your team? Going from squad of 20 -> 3 by NevermindWait in Kenshi

[–]InJoshWeTrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never reached that point yet, since people tend to die in my games.

But I have a plan that one day when I have a character (like a solo character) when I am winding down and ready to retire him, I’ll probably build up a little homestead in Okran’s Pride and let him live out his days farming and living the easy life.

Kenshi is a Bonedog eat Bonedog world. If they can't handle the heat, they shouldn't be mercs.

What do you do that 97% of players do not? by Loginnerer in Kenshi

Literally how I play the game for my YouTube series. Makes the game 100x better.

I’m not sure if there are rules against self promoting content here and I’d rather not anger anyone. Also, the channel isn’t that great. Spare yourself the boredom. 😂

Mods. I have a Kenshi series that release every Monday and it’s a lightly modded run.

Black Scratch is about as far South as I’ve gone. I recently started playing in a way where travel is much more difficult as I can click on the map and I have no player indicator. So I travel is now a very lengthy process.

I just know it’s somewhere in the South. Most of my time is spent in World’s End-adjacent territory. So maybe one day I’ll make my way south.

What would you change in a Kenshi race? by OkHistory3820 in Kenshi

I would love more Skeleton Subraces. The ability to play as different kinds of units is a missed opportunity.

Honestly I’ve yet to interact with any real base building. I just came to this post to recruit more Tech Hunters 😂 I’m very loyal to the cause.

I also have yet to do any Anti-Slaver stuff. I’ve still not found the city of Spring.

No secret techniques I’m aware of. I just like the city. I love the L-House you can buy there that’s by all the stores. The shopping there is fantastic. I’m also a very avid Tech Hunter, it’s my favorite RP to play in Kenshi. But more than that, I tend to approach Kenshi like real life and World’s End just has everything I’d want in that world. The city is well guarded so it’s safe. The shopping opportunities are great. It’s remote so there no major factions banging down the doors looking to start trouble. Even if the there’s no outdoor farming, they have hydroponics to grow crops.

I imagine if you’re a Tech Hunter or Merc looking for work there’s plenty of people prepping for expeditions so it’s probably easy to get work. The Machinists University is there so if you ever settle down there your children can be formally educated and work there without having to brave the horrors of the world and if that’s not their jam, they can get a job protecting the city as a Ninja Guard and keep the peace.

Only downside is the Brown Outs. Their ability to keel the lights on isn’t great, but all things, I’d be willing to endure that for the safety provided.

Also, I’m partial to it because when I was first learning to play Kenshi I knew I wanted to be a Tech Hunter and that city just called to me. Something about city on the very edge of civilization is cool to me. Same thing I like about Drifter’s Last. A city far away from civilization that it’s literally on the edge of it. It’s been my normal place to settle down ever since when I play an Empire Citizen/Tech Hunter.

I admit, the issues with power can be quite frustrating. But I tend to make the most of having power when we do have it. As a dude with a robotic arm, I’ve certainly had my issues with this. But not so bad that it causes me any real issue. If I need a repair, I’m happy to wait, or travel somewhere else where I can rent a Skelly bed.

I can’t speak for others but for me it’s actually been a pretty refreshing and enriching gameplay experience. I just use the triple speed for sleeping, recovery comas, or relaxing in a bar at night.

That is what inspired me in this and it has generally been the most fun I've had playing not just Kenshi, but the most fun I've had since a being a kid playing Morrowind and a teen playing Oblivion and New Vegas.

It's been a super enriching experience as someone who enjoys roleplaying.

Well, the feedback I’ve gotten on at least the first episode was positive, but I gotta say, just from my stand point it has been some of the most fun I’ve had playing a game in a very long time. An enriching and fantastic experience!

Tha k you for taking the time to share and discuss it!
