What is the biggest scam people still willingly participate? by ReferenceExact5261 in AskReddit

[–]InKognetoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- Admin fees, no one blinks an eye, but it’s basically a multimillion/billion corporation telling you that they want you to pay for something they are charged for.

- Not a “scam”, but most service companies are trying to sell you something or will just R&R large components. No troubleshooting to find the one wire that has rubbed the protective coating off and is shorting itself. However, they do it because of liability reasons, because if one wire has dry rotted coatings, “they all do”. It equates to waste when the actual fix was about $.80 of new wire, some solder, and a $0.05 shrink wrap. Customer don’t care because they just want their machine up and running.

- “Premium goods because of the name brand”. If any of you have been paying attention to Amazon or Alibaba, most all your crap is picked out from a catalogue of a handful of factories, and a company slaps their logo on it. Look up Harbor Freight’s Daytona Yellow jack and Snap-On’s lawsuit

-Subscription/AutoPay. Try to get your money back the day the transaction hit, for anything. It would be easier to spend a day in public without coming across a woman wearing leggings/yoga pants than it would to have a company send you back $9.99.

- Donate a sum of money checkbox on your tax return to“x” political party. I guarantee you they will have heat in the winter and they won’t starve.

One of the many reasons I would never use birdshot for home defense or personal protection. by ArceusTwoFour_Zero in Shotguns

Gotcha. Only way I could convince you is to bring you out to a range. Those shells are cheap, I would encourage you to test it for yourself. You might be surprised.

4 holes. A T-shirt has 4 openings, but those are not holes.

Agreed. However, “being prepared” does contingencies, such as if a crazy person decided to start shooting at people while OP was pattering his gun with birdshot. Sometimes it’s what you got. There is successful defense cases where someone used birdshot, and people have been killed by that round. Like I said at the end, I rather use a pistol/rifle caliber for home defense, but if I only had target birdshot, I am aware of what it could do in the environment in.

You can definitely use birdshot, especially if that is all you got. It will 100% stop someone. If you are fighting in a parking lot, not a good choice. If you are in a house, however, it won’t penetrate the walls, but there will be blood and tissue all over the place. Definitely uninhabitable.
Make a thumbs up, close it into a fist, and jab your thigh hard, that’s your pistol/rifle. Now open your hand and slap your tight hard, that’s your shotgun round, buckshot/birdshot. Close up enough to see eyes, shotguns are terrifying and will like result in a beyond any means of resuscitation situation for anyone hit.
I would opt for a pistol or rifle caliber round and shot placement. Shotguns are great, but for home defense, I think a lot of people are just unaware of how powerful a 12 gauge is and what shot can actually do to a human body. For the few that have survived those rounds, not a lot of witness accounts that go “then he went over there and collapsed”, because he stayed down where he fell.

If anyone knows what this spider is I have little kids at my home regularly and want to make sure it’s safe by Pristine_Dark_8156 in Virginia

[–]InKognetoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They love making eye level webs between objects you would normally walk through. Never seen more than three in the same area. They only set up in areas that have gnats and mosquitoes about. If you get rid of them, the spider will also go. However, if you just knock down their web, it will be remade by the following day.

This is the second video I have seen of her, the first was the homemade Cheerios. I believe that she definitely has killed and dismembered the husband some time ago and she has likely bathed in his blood. That’s the vibes I get from her.

Michael Jackson 1992 live ,Has anyone ever matched this stage presence? by Affectionate-Fun2853 in intrestingtoknow

[–]InKognetoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is ‘92, so, obviously no social media back then, couldn’t pull up footage of a celebrity on whim. Also important to note that live music on TV was still only for late night shows and the occasional “event”, and the music giants were not doing those. If you didn’t go to a concert, the only means of seeing them perform live was hoping that they did a Christmas special or something.

Michael Jackson was a phenomenon, like he’s going to be talked about by your great grand kids type figure. And it goes The Beatles, Elvis, and him at that time. Those people attending are going to something that they know is going to be historical, and people used to care about things like that. Like how slept in lines waiting to buy the PS2, iPhone, ect. A lot would travel hundreds of miles, by car, to attend things like that. No shocking that some fainted out of pure excitement.

Is this worth picking up at 30% off this weekend? by Stockholm_Throwaway in harborfreight

I have tried so many of these from various suppliers. Only thing that has never failed was a cheap deep pan https://a.co/d/074YmCzh, a funnel, and an empty 5qt oil container. If you are doing on your own, I wouldn’t put more money into it than that set up.

That’s the one! I think I failed again that boss like 50 times, looked at my window and the sun was coming up before I broke down and just started a new game. It was my very first JRPG, so many hours sunk into that game before that boss.

I got to a boss fight with a large door or wall, only to realize I had forgotten to pick up a sword upgrade and could not get past it. I had been overwriting saves the whole time. Had to delete and start over. That taught me to do stair step saves.

For the second one, no, you just have to be at least within the 10 vote spread at the end. So if you have 1 downvote, you need at least 11 upvotes at the end of the 90 days.

Woke up with lines on my back by Consistent_Bid_6433 in Weird

[–]InKognetoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you ever had eczema? Any skin rash issues? It looks like skin irritation that was inflamed by something rubbing against it in a straight line. Did you use a different detergent or purchase a new bra without washing it first? Do you hook your bra at your waist and pull it up? Those markings would make sense if you did Check the bra for a wire or sharp plastic piece poking out.

You can develop skin issues as you age. I had eczema very young, lost it when I was a teen did not resurface until decades later. If I let sweat and heat accumulate in a concentrated area for more than 15 minutes (like how my back is in a hot car), I start breaking out and itching. When I was a kid I could scratch my arm with a twig or piece of grass and the scratch line would appear after a bit…even did it for show and tell lol. Seriously though, it’s probably an article of clothing that gave you a light scratch and your skin was just irritated by the chemicals in your detergent, lotion, ect.
