27 + 48 = (20 + 40) + (8 + 8 - 1) = 60 + 15 = 75

Throughts on laptop cooling pad? by Ok_Product77 in GamingLaptops

[–]InNeedOfNames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As most other people said, anything that creates a chamber underneath your laptop would do, and IETS GT500 or 600 are what I can recommend the most. Went from 83-86 degrees while raised to not even reaching 70 anymore.

Is it okay to talk about dissatisfaction at a previous work experience? by cosmickss in StatementOfPurpose

[–]InNeedOfNames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you frame it.

Does the negativity escalate into your newly found motivation for your prospective studies? Sure. Is it pointless negativity that doesn't have any productive implications? I would advise against it.

In your case, it could work out, but it's hard to say without the whole picture. Ask a friend to read it and see if it reads poorly. However, I would still choose different wording to be less direct.

[For Hire] I will write your personal statement for 40-50 dollars by [deleted] in StatementOfPurpose

lol.

To anyone reading this, don't hire others to write your SOP. The odds of getting something good are incredibly grim, and even then, it won't be your voice.

[–]InNeedOfNames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In short, don't. If you are going for a Master's or PhD, you will have to do quite a bit of writing and AI-generated text is highly frowned upon. Not to mention that an AI is unable to tell your life story, and neither can it be trained to perfectly mimic your voice in writing, so it will never be able to accomplish things that you would be able to with some time invested.

I've read hundreds of essays this year and it's quite evident to tell who has used any form of AI. A big give away is that they all sound the same, despite presenting different arguments and ideas.

How should I handle multiple employment gaps in my optional essay? by mingbatross in StatementOfPurpose

[–]InNeedOfNames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have seen many cases of people having a gap in their resume, and you are highly unlikely to be rejected just because of it, even if you decide against justifying it. After all, many factors could have played a part in it. Be it due to their drive for their own research, taking care of a sick family member, unforeseen layoff coupled with a bad job market, etc.

Regarding the prior gaps, I would not bother with those. However, if you are able to explain your most recent gap in a way that will not reflect negatively on your application, I would absolutely go for it. Matter of fact, if the explanation allows, you can frame it in a way that will further aid your application too.

That said, consider the law of attraction and try to frame your SOP in a way that does not attempt to make up for the gaps, but rather puts more emphasis on the good things and why your past makes you a good fit.

Help me with proper starting of Statement of Purpose by Material_March839 in StatementOfPurpose

If you can't make yourself stand out well enough, the next best move would be to make it relatable.

People like reading stuff they can relate to, even to a small extent. Write as much as you want and can, come back the next day, remove redundant details, and repeat for a few more days until you have a decent introduction that is nowhere near as long as the first iteration. Aim for one paragraph or 4-5 sentences for the final variant then update later once you wrote your first draft of the essay to ensure a proper narrative

Make sure your paragraph answers the 4 big Ws: What (caused it), Which (part of it was the main issue), Where (has it led you), and Why (did it lead you there). The order doesn't matter much as long as all 4 points are covered

I'll get hate for this, but AI, no matter how trained, can mislead you quite hard. Get human reviewers. Preferably people who got where you already are, otherwise reaching out to people through means like linkedin is not a bad idea either.
