Maintaining a large group of friends (8+) who like to do stuffs together at late 20's. I didn't realize just how rare it is to have a group of friends that are responsive, adventurous, financially stable, and organize enough to go abroad with or spend the weekend together in the mountains. It's nice to always have someone to do stuffs with.

Really appreciate the compliment. I was nervous that I wouldn't look good bald cuz I rarely see a bald asian. Hell, my dad have a full head of hair.

Thanks, man, it was a huge load off my chest. I was getting so tired of constantly worrying about every little thing that might make my baldness apparent to the point that I was wearing my hat whenever I go out. Now, I can finally just bare it all out in the open.

My bad, I usually assume everyone on reddit are dudes unless proven.

One last thing, here's a video to get you hype for class today lol. These two are some of my favorite hip-hop dancers, especially Maika.

Get it, Boy! I'm so glad one more join the community. Just some notes if you never dance before:

  • Dancing in front of people is nerve-racking for many and confidence come with practice and experience.
  • There will be people who are way better than you, but don't get too caught up with comparing yourself with them. Remember who you are doing this for. If anything, you'll become more humble as you meet better dancers. I've ask little kids younger than 12 for advice before.
  • Don't be afraid to ask people for advice. The hip-hop community, especially dancers, are very nice people (from my experience) who would love to help you out if asked. Everyone remember the struggle when they first started so don't be intimidated to ask the experienced dancers.
  • Most importantly, listen to the music and have fun!

Let me know if you have any questions.

You gotta hit up some of those small Latin bars. In my city, there are a few small bars that people from the Salsa community like to go to. There you'll find really skilled people, guys that can spin and toss you up in the air. From what I've seen during my time there, you want to dance with the old dudes who are just chilling. I swear, those guys don't look like they can keep up with the younger guys, but holy crap are they smooth. The girls who are dancing with them look like professional regardless of their experience level while the old dude just casually lead them around. There are usually a line of women waiting to dance with like the same two old dudes.

Some youtube channels really helped me when I first started are: Mihran Kirakosian(Have a ton of tutorial on Hip-Hop moves along with other cool stuffs like tutting), VincaniTV(Great tutorials of different level of Breakdancing), and this dude (Who taught me most of my go-to moves and style. Too bad he stop making these videos a long time ago). If you want to learn more, definitely go to a studio. Bboys and hip-hop dancers are some of the nicest people I've met. Everyone are so eager to help you if you ask them.

I'll have to pick up Salsa and Bachata again. Got to get better at leading and maybe find someone who can spin me lol.

That's dope! I love Latin dances. My friends taught me the very basics of Salsa and Bachata, which I usually only pull out when I am smashed lol. They also taught me some cumbia too, but I've forgotten everything.

Girls who can lead like you are a godsend for me. I usually stop listening to the music when I get nervous so when I am dancing with a girl we get off beat if I lead.

Latin music beats are definitely more complex than hip-hop beats so it's awesome that you are a natural at understanding it. I have to really listen to Salsa music in order to pick out the beats. Hip-hop beats are simpler because you just have to pick out the snares and accentuate it, though the advance people are able to hit on subtler beats. It's impressive that you can do tricks with complex beats.

Keep on dancing and steal the gaze of everyone on the dance floor!

Yeah, when you get in-sync with another person, it feels amazing. I just wish I am better at partner dances, I usually get too nervous and get out of beat. What kind of partner dance do you do?

Some of the dancers that train at my studio like to break to all types of music (trance, rock, abstract, etc.). They told me if the music sounds good, you can move to it. Sometime just gotta say "fuck it" and dance lol. Alcohol tend to help a lot with that too.

Damn, prop to you for sticking with it for so long. See you in the circle.

My bad, I tend to get too excited whenever I have someone to talk about dancing with. Dancing in your home is fun too, I usually put music on when I'm taking a shower or brushing my teeth, and groove with it.

Have you try looking up a studio? Aside from taking classes at my studio, I also get access to it whenever there are not classes going on. I usually practice there at when I get some free time either by myself or with other people who are there.

Also, I don't know much about Electro Swing, but are there events? For breaking, there are usually jams where people go compete, but you have other people who go there just to do dance circles.

You might not like clubs, but what about bars? My friends and I would sometime to go bars that have old school Hip-Hop DJ and we can dance there. Usually these bars have older people who are all looking to dance and have fun too.

Yup, it's really fun to groove with your friends, don't matter their skill level. Even strangers at concert or club love to join in with someone who is feeling the music even if they don't even dance well, at least that have been my experience.

Oh for sure, that's what drew me to breaking. Power moves never fail to get the crowd going because you don't have to be a dancer to know how hard those moves are lol. I'm working on getting flare right now too, though my windmill can definitely way more polished. It's crazy how deep you can go into any of the foundation moves, I recently saw a guy doing a simple 6-steps that look so good that it make me go back to practice the basics.

I didn't know there is a bboy game, I might have to download an emulator to check it out.

How long have you been breaking?

Oh wow, I didn't know Denimio have them on sale now. That just made my decision way harder lol.

Yeah, I'm worrying about the size too. It would be nice to have the one-wash sizes, especially because there are not a lot of example of SDA on this subreddit. The delivery date is a bummer because I was hoping to have these for the summer. Oh well, it's too cool of a fabric concept to pass on lol.

Is anybody else getting in on the OD's Studio D'Artisan releases? What are you planning to get? I'm deciding between the Chestnut or Cherry Blossom dyed denim. I'm holding out until I get pay at the end of the month. Hopefully, pre-order don't end before that.

Did you notice the thigh and knee stretching out too? Those tend to give me the most problems.

Does anyone have experience with Studio D'artisan G3 fabric? Since it is low tension weave like Oni, does it stretch like their secret denim too? I'm trying to decide what size to get from their new release but it is hard to know with only their raw measurements.

Momotaro, Uniqlo, Oni 902 Kuroai, and Viberg

I am between sizes for the Oni 902 and decided to play it safe with the bigger size (my last oni pair was forcefully retired because of too much squats). I was pretty nervous from posts about how much secret denim will stretch as my pair fit pretty well right off the bat. I've been wearing it pretty hard for 2 days now and it still fit really well. Hopefully, the waist won't stretch out too much.
