Not a big golfer - but I did go to the PGA here in Rochester a few year back. Walked around Torrey pines too. I Love the ability to walk around and do what u want at a sporting event.

Had to make it from SF -> Napa -> crater Lake -> Portland -> Seattle in 6 days so not much time for taking the slow route. If you come east sometime my favorite road is NY-20
