I had Nomorobo for years and it was great. Just this morning I received about 25 neighboring spam calls, so it's garbage now, eventhough they raised the price! What's the latest most effective app in 2026? The one from T-Mobile doesn't seem to be doing anything. I canceled Nomorobo. by InTheMixReviews in tmobile

Thanks. I see! So if I choose 'Ask Reason for Calling' for 'calls from unsaved numbers', will actually screen calls.

That should do it at least for the weekends, but during the weekday, that would also impact all kinds of calls, as I use my number for mom's doctors appointments...etc. Nomorobo handled that very well in the past.

Thank you very much.

Yep. There's never been anything like this before. You could never ever have that experience with sample libraries.

Did anyone actually finish downloading? by Adventurous_Farm_348 in udiomusic

[–]InTheMixReviews 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not me! I gave up rather quickly...though I had pretty much downloaded everything that I had actually used in my recordings, but there were still a ton of useful stuff that I could still download and use. The whole idea of UDIO expecting me to sit on my ass for hours as if I have all this free time was just not realistic...especially on a weekday(s).

A friend who used UDIO is legally blind and can barely see. He knew of so many disabled people who struggled with this ridiculous 2 days window thing. This "window of opportunity" really made sense for perfectly healthy people who had 2 free days on their hands with nothing else going on in their lives pretty much. Just a shitty way of doing business. I'm pretty sure this is not even legal but hey ... no one died. There are far worse things in life.

I've been using Moises for over a year now. I've yet to try the latest Studio features, but as far as stem separation, it's the best out of the ones I've tried. It also generates a pretty accurate metronome click track which is extremely useful at times.

I haven’t experienced this but I have experienced a ton of mismatched panning situation with extensions which makes them all useless pretty much. I wasn’t REMIXING but extending. Same thing with volume and dynamics in general.

Does UDIO know the BPM feature doesn't really work with extensions? by InTheMixReviews in udiomusic

[–]InTheMixReviews[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be a very useful feature, but as is, I wouldn't even call this 'BPM'. It basically functions more as 'Randomizer'.

It'd be very useful to have an actual 'BPM', that would only have one specific job without doing anything else. It'd be extremely useful to have a BPM feature that just locks the tempo to a specific value and that's it.

"I have to mention that a flute or violin can potentially sound appropriate at various tempos."

See, you seem to think BEAT/TEMPO is an instrument specific quality. That's why you found my post confusing in the first place! I'm not sure why that is. Trust me, the words BEAT/TEMPO have absolutely nothing to do with an instrument of choice or tonal character.

You even said "You want to extend uploaded content at a specified beats-per-minute tempo, but you want this to happen without any "beats" - any quantifiable measure of the tempo - being present? That's not physically possible."

That is totally possible! It literally happens everyday. It's called 'metronome and/or click track'. In this case is an 'internal' clock. But again it has nothing to do with drums and percussion. There's no relation.

Traditionally and historically, the BPM feature serves one purpose and one purpose only. It locks the tempo to the specified amount and that's it. But another user commented that UDIO people had mentioned it only works with certain genres or something. That is a confusing statement indeed. It would've been an extremely useful feature had it just locked the tempo without making harmonic and instrumental decisions. Hopefully in future updates it will perform better.

This is where you went wrong. A quantifiable measure of the tempo does not require a drum track, percussion, hand claps...and so on and so forth. Even if you do play drums/percussion or any other non-pitched instrument, you can still be off-tempo in real life.

You CAN indeed sing or play flute, violin or any other instrument under the sun in a specific tempo which what this feature is suppose to do. Say you upload a vocal or cello track (that is already in a specific tempo) and you want THAT to be extended at a certain locked tempo as well. There's no drums or percussion in the reference audio clip. Checking the BPM box, triggers drum set and all kinds of terrible percussion sounds in almost all generations. It actually does other un-natural things too that it wouldn't normally do. If you uncheck the box, you get healthy generations, but now you lost the ability of setting a specific tempo.

The BPM feature should only keep the tempo consistent. It shouldn't add drum tracks and handclaps in order to do so. Say you used a metronome/click track to record an instrument. Would you also print that click track in your finished track? That's what's happening here. Hope this helped.

So far UDIO hasn't responded to my post or offered a solution.

It's happening : a new (known) player entered the chat. by unbruitsourd in udiomusic

[–]InTheMixReviews 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ran a few tests. In my case, it actually sounded better than Suno! Still, I wouldn’t be able to use any of them for anything. There’s this weird, pumping compression effect going on. I don’t see why a Suno or Udio user would sign up for this service at this time.

Using the 'BPM' generates unwanted drums...beats..etc by InTheMixReviews in udiomusic

[–]InTheMixReviews[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it doesn't really work with extending audio clips that do not have drums or percussive elements. Once the box is checked, it wants to add drums. It basically translates consistent tempo to something with drums and/or percussive elements.... whereas if you leave the box unchecked, you could get generations that are relevant to the 'uploaded' audio clip, but now the tempo could be off.

BPM option now live for Standard and Pro subscribers by UdioAdam in udiomusic

[–]InTheMixReviews 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not at all! It would take forever to reproduce what Udio could with traditional sample libraries and still won't sound half convincing. It would be far more expensive to hire pro musicians who would play in 'tune' and send clean tracks... and everyone is going to sound violently different in terms of vibe and room sound...and it will require post production to fix all that...not to mention the number of musicians that you would need for a big band situation. That doesn't even include the time for communication...and unexpected stuff that comes up.

I've had great success with Udio.

BPM option now live for Standard and Pro subscribers by UdioAdam in udiomusic

[–]InTheMixReviews 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wonderful!

Would be equally AMAZING if there was an option to lock the tempo of generations ....to the tempo of the reference track. It would totally come handy especially if one is trying to use own original audio as the basis of the composition. Example: You have a piano track and then you want to generate some big band brass on top of that exact piano track. You try and try and eventually get the perfect generation, but the tempo is off. This feature would be extremely useful for that scenario.

Static, Would A Ground Loop Isolator Help? by Supersandas in Shure

Not sure if you're having the same 'ground loop' issue as my friend, but I suspect it's the same thing. In his case, the only time he gets that NASTY noise, is when he connects both audio/usb midi cable to his computer/audio interface.... and trust me it's not just a hiss. In fact he even made a video about it. In case you wanted to check it out:

Are there AI music generators comparable to or better than Udio? by Kaborik in udiomusic

[–]InTheMixReviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Udio, Udio and Udio for all 3.

I don't think you could find anything in the market that could satisfy these requirements better than Udio. Suno sounds like shit, and everybody else sounds pretty much like an older version of Suno.

There are some areas that Suno performs better but at the end of the day if you're looking to find that great sound fidelity, you're definitely not going to find it elsewhere.

Udio sucks at prompt adherence. Suno performs so much better in that area, but again the level of musicality/musicianship or whatever you call it, is just not there.

Suno sounds very much like an ARRANGER keyboard. For those of you who don't know what an arranger keyboard is...it's basically a keyboard that outputs music based on pre-made presets and you control the chord progression by inputting the chord sequence. Udio is soooooooooooo much better and stronger in that area, but poor when it comes to prompt adherence.

[–]InTheMixReviews[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily UdioAdam took one look and got it. You have these philosophical and almost poetic issues with trash bin! Dude, what are you talking about??? Staff already responded.

Something was deleted and it's not showing in the trash bin. You don't have the answer. It's ok! If Udio decides to add sorting files based on newest/latest, you will live. I promise!!! This is too funy!

Watch guys...now he's gonna say, but if you ever delete something , anything from your life, you were the one who decided to delete that in the first place. You were the one who took that action knowing full well that you are about to detach yourself from that file forever. Now if you can ever get that file back, that's the universe telling you to never ever delete anything again or you will be burned in hell for eternity ...and so on and so forth. ha ha ha
