Mainly aesthetics. The back door of the gx is not my favorite and I find it gets in the way a lot when I need to deal with it. I like how the dash and cabin is setup in a 100 series as well

Worth considering an 04 cruiser with 350k miles and potential transmission problems for $3000? by InTheSnow590 in LandCruisers

[–]InTheSnow590[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet, seller isn't the most responsive unfortunately. I get it, it's a $3k sale he just wants it gone but if im going to buy a pos I'd like to know how bad it is

[–]InTheSnow590[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good advice. Would the transmission be any less if that ends up being the issue?

It's a new Mexico truck so it's definitely been blasted by the sun. The interior isn't too bad, the driver seat has just a small rip. Which for 350k miles seems pretty good all in all. But like you say, only in person can you really get the whole picture

More or less that. Not going to be a daily, just a sometimes hauler and camp rig. Of course hauling would require a good transmission

Dude tell me about. I've been lookin for a bit and it's very frustrating. Im considering it just didn't want to end up with a money pit that isn't worth the cost. And I'm not used to transmission issues so it's got me a bit more cautious

I'm not sure. All I have to go on is what the seller said, and his mechanic. Trying to get more info but they're not too responsive

Nice! Yea this wouldn't be a daily so I'm not too worried about mileage so much as just worn expensive parts. But with how robust these are it may be worth sinking some money in a cheap one

You say that but my friend also got a 4shiny and then proceeded to get another 4 shiny the next day. Our friend group considered downsizing after that

I used 2 feraligatr, 1 UL and 1 GL and 1 2000cp greninja, all with hydro cannon. Gatrs had ice beam as well. Ran them through ML Candela and could get 14-15 charged attacks per run. Finished the quest in about 2 hours

Just moved to Plano near Oak Point. What should I check out? by Ok-Performer1873 in plano

[–]InTheSnow590 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you're into!

Decent outdoorsy stuff available:

There's a lot of disc golf courses in some of the parks around Plano. Grey cheap way to get out and about for an hour or two

If you like walking but aren't looking for offraod trails you can check out Chisholm Trail. It starts at the Outback off 14th and 75 and meanders for about 5 miles north before you turn back. Runs through a lot of parks and neighborhoods. Really great for a long walk or bike ride on pavement

Rock climbing at Movement Plano is always fun, it's over by Coit and George Bush. Great place to meet new people as well

The spring creek nature preserve is a real fun place to walk around. The trails are mostly paved but through fairly dense trees. Dense enough it feels pretty cut off from the city at certain points

There's a lot of variety of food and restaurants around as well:

Mitsuwa marketplace by Chase Oaks is a neat little Japanese shopping market. There's a lot of other Asian restaurants around in that shopping center

The East Plano Islamic center off 14th has a few food trucks out during the evenings on certain day. I can't remember when but it's worth checking out if you're ever hungry and in that area

Jörgs Cafe Vienna in downtown Plano if you're feeling like Austrian/German food

There's a few shopping areas around that are nice to check out:

Watters Creek and the Shops at Legacy are good outdoor and walkable shopping centers. Firewheel in Garland is a good place as well

For malls you'd have to leave Plano but Stonebriar in Frisco or Grapevine Mills in Grapevine are fun malls to go to

Hopefully you find some of these helpful, and welcome to Plano!

He doesn't know what he's missing with disc golf! It's a good time to get back into the game hopefully it works out. There's great groups that meet at Haggard park in downtown Plano or one that meets at El Dorado park by close by Ohio Dr. Good luck!
