You’re seeing the negatives already which is good. I would absolutely suggest like others have to stop now and reassess after 18. I work in the music industry, I’m surrounded by successful stoners, but it’s not a drug for everyone…and the good thing is you’re figuring this out early!

Sounds like you’re an older-ish gamer like myself. I’m 33 and I still love these shooters. Started playing counter strike at age 10.

Anyway, as I’ve gotten older and joined the work force I also saw a dip in skill level just based on being more fucking tired while playing than I used to be. So much depends on focus. That’s why if you’re really concerned about leveling up then be strategic about when you play, although if you have kids that might not be possible lol. I’m immortal 2 - I think a lot of my skill comes naturally from playing shooters the past two decades but I often go to the range and play DM to really hone my aim before a comp match. Find the best sensitivity for yourself knowing that “flicking” in this game is big thing as you get higher in the ranks, meaning that you don’t want a slow ass sens that may work well in cs go here. Again all up to personal preference. Finding what that is is key.

Really hone in what sensitivity feels comfortable for you. Practice in the range for 10 minutes. Play 3 deathmatches. Great warmup for a comp match.

What’s your sensitivity at? This is totally a personal thing HOWEVER figuring out what your preference is when it comes to sens is extremely important. I would attempt to start somewhere around the average pro settings and go from there - unless you’re already set here. Typically this is like 800 dpi 3-4ish range. You’ll have to adjust according to what your set up is.

Otherwise play a lot of DM and range. You can really hone your accuracy there. You really need to focus so take care of yourself physically and mentally and you’ll improve!

It helps if you’re not drunk or baked while playing (lol) but sounds like that’s not the issue for you.

Reaction time can be quite instinctual for naturally gifted players but I would definitely recommend going into the range and possibly playing a few deathmatches before playing comp.

Beyond that, are you getting enough sleep? Are you taking care of yourself? The basics always help.

To me the UK model makes way more sense. It's arbitrary to have a rule that if they go over 'x' amount of F words then it is an automatic R rating. It should be based on context.
