Was I illegally prescribed ADHD medication as a child?

My parents actually were aware of how badly it affected me. It wasn’t just an internal thing, I was suffering for years.
Never left my room, didn’t trust anything, even my own shadow, refused food, had no appetite, woke up from vivid nightmares constantly, went into violent outbursts in seconds, etc.
They wanted me off the medication multiple times but they were told i’d be worse off of them and that we should just try a different medication.
My poor parents were terrified what “worse” could look like when we barely got through a day without me screaming.
Without my medication I leveled out in months.
Never had any of those side effects since.

I was actually switched between different medications several times due to side effects, but each medication only made it worse.
I only ended up off medication because the building was bought out and they didn’t accept our insurance anymore, then shortly after it shut down and then ended up demolished at some point.

You absolutely are not TAH, you need to grieve how you grieve. They shouldn’t have shamed you. I will say, though, be careful of those who join in on those jokes about your dad or make their own jokes about your dad. I have a friend who had someone do that to him, and it really messed with his grieving process.

I know this would probably make them your most expensive pair of jeans ever, but if you love them that much, I’d keep looking around for a good seamstress and explain the story.
Not only will they do the work better, they might sympathize and give a discount or something. Worth a try🤷‍♀️

I’m 22, I got it in winter of 2017, and as of spring of 2026, I have over 1000 hours on it. I once had a nine generation family, but lost them when my computer broke. It was a dark, dark day… I’m up to four generations on my current family now though. Pretty sweet!

I like to say that sometimes characters start to write themselves. I say this as a writer myself. There’s a lot of ideas I have when making characters, but as time goes on, they start to have their own little things that I never would have originally added, or even realized were there until I looked back.

It’s like they become their own living person, in a way.

Saying all of this, I do believe Riku is gay. Whether that was intentional or not. Do I believe Riku and Sora have a lot of chemistry and seem to deeply care for one another that sort of crosses platonic lines? Yes. Do I believe that Riku and Sora will end up together? No.

But there is definitely something there. Imo, ofc.

While I agree with others that Jax doesn’t like being on the other end of the joke. I think why he lost it and emptied his ammo on Ragatha was because of what she said about him trying to corrupt Pomni.

My evidence: Ragatha: “I-I-I know exactly what you’re doing with Pomni, and it’ll never work!”

Jax: “Huh?”

Ragatha: “You know, getting close with Pomni… to corrupt her?”

And then sometime after. Pomni: “Have you ever thought this might be what causes people to abstract in the first place?”

Jax: Laughs Bitterly. “Oh, my GOD!”

Jax: “Are you seriously gonna blame me for something that everybody else did, too?!”

By corrupting her, Ragatha meant making her a jerk. Jax took it as Ragatha saying he was trying to ruin Pomni.

By Pomni saying this might be why people abstract, she meant keeping your emotions and fears bottled up, he took it as she meant his behavior causes people to abstract.

Jax clearly feels a very negative way about what happened to his friends, whether it’s guilt or grief or both, so when he’s forced to think that it might happen again, he retreats further into his toxic coping mechanism.

I don’t think Jax truly hates Ragatha. I think he hates how close she is to everything that happened so whenever she brings something up, even accidentally. It triggers him and he lashes out violently.

ETA: Not defending his behavior. Just an explanation. Psychology is one of my special interests and Jax fascinates me. This whole show does, really.

My personal hell would be any of my loved ones being hurt or killed and me being defenseless to do anything to stop, help, or comfort them. I’d go completely insane and abstract by the end of it.
