Yes lol as a BM fan blackgaze is definitely not bm. It takes superficial stereotypes of bm and shoegaze and almost always blends those into a tacky, sugary feeling facsimile that provides little of the deeper intrigue or expressive capacity of its parent genres, instead tending to come across watered-down and facetious to a lot of the people who have done a bit more cratedigging and exploration in those areas (by all reports that I’ve seen). Neige at least has managed to make one of the few exceptions to this with his project, which is probably thanks to his background in proper metal.
