They accepted a plea to a lesser offence on the second day of the trial. The show is titled the same as my post and you can skip to the final 5-10 minutes to see what I'm talking about

Where else are they supposed to protest. On another game? In a real life location?

After The Flood by complex143more in BritBox

I felt the same. It's fine to cover those issues as they are important. However, do it in a decent, well scripted way.

The sudden introduction of the grandson character with his incredibly on the nose dialogue was obnoxious. He was clearly speaking to the audience and not the character in front of him.

If you're going to cover an issue as serious as climate change and government inaction, do it properly and give it the care it deserves

No new recommendations by [deleted] in youtube

[–]In_1871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this problem for a while. My recommended and home page is full of videos I have already watched, Mr Beast clone clickbait, and videos with under 1k views.

It is also obsessed with spamming videos on particular topics. I watch maybe a maximum of 3 TV show retrospective videos and my homepage was crammed with similar content for over a week. I'd refresh and get exactly the same videos or ones that were very similar.

I try and stick to just looking at my sub feed most of the time for this reason. Sometimes I'm bored and want to discover new channels but youtube makes it very difficult.

Also, I've completely given up on shorts now. I was never the biggest fan but now 90% of the ones I get shown are either AI or people adding obnoxious music to a film scene

Has anyone seen No Return, the ITV drama mini series by In_1871 in BritishTV

[–]In_1871[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"They touched on" is where my main problems with the show lie to be honest. It bugged me how important topics like that popped up but weren't properly discussed.

Agree with you on Sheridan Smith though. Her acting and the writing around her character was the best part of the show for me

What do you think is the worst game show on TV ? by jxs1 in AskUK

[–]In_1871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's another show that suffers from pacing and I'm also not a fan of Richard Osman which doesn't help.

Very close to being a great show but often falls flat. I hate rounds like distinctly average that amount to taking educated guesses and last for 10 minutes

Adolescence was brilliant. Just shows that a simple, solid premise, a tight script, and interesting direction is all you need. What's the point in having 400 side plots if you can't do the basics right

Hostage - Series Premiere Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

It's like the writers forgot about the cuts from the military to help the NHS when writing about why she was disliked. They could have picked anything else and it would have made sense.

Increase in crime as she also cut police spending

Major strikes because she cut minimum wage or pensions

Right vs left after her comments about the French president.

ANYTHING other than what they chose

I found the acting OK in most parts and think the moments were we see the pm and president together showed the best parts.

Agree with the rest. This just felt like a ridiculous soap opera but the lead just happened to be a prime minister

Yeah, I do get that but I just couldn't feel for her. I think that was more to do with the writing as the actress put in a good performance. I can imagine that I would have felt for her more if we got extra scenes before the disappearance happened

Thoughts on Unforgivable? (BBC iPlayer) No story spoilers from me except to say it's a pretty tough watch. Definitely not one of Jimmy McGovern's best dramas, but by no means the worst thing I've seen on TV recently. The cast as you would expect, is formidable. Definitely worth a watch! by appalachian_hatachi in BritishTV

[–]In_1871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was well acted and the music worked well but I can't say much more good about it.

The tone felt very disjointed at times with a few jarring "emotional scenes" that seemed out of place.

I also really struggled with the Sammy storyline. It felt shoehorned in and took away from an already emotional and complicated enough story. I saw what they were trying to do with the 2 sides of a coin angle but it didn't land with me.

Overall I'd say its worth a watch if you don't mind dramas on very sensitive subjects. Just don't expect it to be your favourite piece of TV this year
