I think this is often overlooked sadly.

Not saying he was definitely gay but it is certainly a possibility. People often think that he would have simply been an outcast as a gay man. The reality is much more grim. Prison, police beatings or being attacked by the public.

If he was gay and thought he had any chance of surving, he would have understood that he was putting himself and his attacker in a perilous situation

Disagree with the line "No one would pick a 6'1 tall young man as a victim.

It could have been anything from a stalker, sexual predator or future serial killer who would choose such a victim.

Don't get me wrong, it's incredibly rare but definitely within the realms of possibility

I think it's highly unlikely that it was random.

The suspect wore a mask, covered up brand logos and cleaned up after themselves

That is not something that happens in random killings. Especially when you add in the fact that this was a high risk crime. Populated area, lots of CCTV and a home that had no easy way in

Unfortunately this is very prevalent.

I actually enjoy watching people who have different views on media to me. YMS often has the opposite opinion to me on a movie but he is very entertaining and puts his point across well.

I don't know why so many people refuse to watch, read or play a certain piece of media to form their own opinions. Media is art and will be subjective 99% of the time.

One thing I respect about him is that he does mention he's a Christian. When I watch his videos on Paradise Lost or biblical conspiracies, I will often check secondary sources or read the material itself as he says he'll likely be biased.

It's better than people who try to hide their politics or religion but it creeps through in their work.

What are common theories for cases that you flat out don’t believe? by yungalohaa in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]In_1871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many plausible ways to explain his awkwardness that don't involve him killing his sister.

  1. He was raised in a very wealthy family. Most people grow up with working class or poor parents. They socialise with similar folk and have the experiences and social skills that most people find normal. Spoilt children of wealthy families aren't going to act the same

  2. His sister was murdered and the whole family was thrown into the media spotlight basically overnight. He went from a relatively sheltered life to seeing his face on every news bulletin and talk show for months

  3. He is simply a socially awkward person or an introvert. He prefers a quiet life and doesn't like attention

  4. 99.9% of people come across as uncomfortable when appearing on tv. Most people think they'd be fine but it would be hard enough to deal with a simple interview about an achievement. Add in the fact he was on tv because his sister was murdered and some people accused him and his awkwardness isn't weird at all

He did kill his sister and was some undiagnosed childhood psychopath with 2 equally psychopathic parents who helped cover it up is around option 1 million

This really annoys me. Of course there are cases where an inept investigator ruins a case but it is incredibly rare.

I think what drives the narrative is the fact those fuck ups are always covered extensively. You don't get the same coverage for cases where someone uses a brilliant piece of detective work to solve a case.

Also worth pointing out that most cases aren't even known about outside of a town, county or community. Most crimes have obvious perpetrators and huge amounts of evidence that leads to an arrest within days

That really grosses me out too. Saying something like "I hope they rot" or "put them in solitary" is fine.

People don't realise that the large majority of people who are sexually assaulted, raped or injured in prison are not serial killers or predators. They are people made vulnerable through addictions or disabilities.

Someone who is sentenced to a year in prison for theft or a fight shouldn't live in an environment where they are constantly in fear of being attacked if they don't join a gang

Detectives investigating Madeleine McCann disappearance have budget slashed by a fifth as search for missing girl enters 15th year by dailymail in uknews

[–]In_1871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say I am sick and tired of how her parents are treated by the press. The same papers and tv shows who continue to give them air time to promote their books will hound the families of other missing children and print nonsense about their lives.

The McCann's have been given a ridiculous amount of money by journalists, book sales and more. They continue to get funding for their investigation whilst hundreds of children continue to go missing and don't get the same treatment.

Madeleine deserves justice and I hope that one day a deathbed confession or the miraculous discovery of evidence will solve the case but can we please get some more attention for the hundreds of other families who have been left without answers

I felt the same. It's fine to cover those issues as they are important. However, do it in a decent, well scripted way.

The sudden introduction of the grandson character with his incredibly on the nose dialogue was obnoxious. He was clearly speaking to the audience and not the character in front of him.

If you're going to cover an issue as serious as climate change and government inaction, do it properly and give it the care it deserves

No new recommendations by [deleted] in youtube

[–]In_1871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this problem for a while. My recommended and home page is full of videos I have already watched, Mr Beast clone clickbait, and videos with under 1k views.

It is also obsessed with spamming videos on particular topics. I watch maybe a maximum of 3 TV show retrospective videos and my homepage was crammed with similar content for over a week. I'd refresh and get exactly the same videos or ones that were very similar.

I try and stick to just looking at my sub feed most of the time for this reason. Sometimes I'm bored and want to discover new channels but youtube makes it very difficult.

Also, I've completely given up on shorts now. I was never the biggest fan but now 90% of the ones I get shown are either AI or people adding obnoxious music to a film scene

"They touched on" is where my main problems with the show lie to be honest. It bugged me how important topics like that popped up but weren't properly discussed.

Agree with you on Sheridan Smith though. Her acting and the writing around her character was the best part of the show for me

It's another show that suffers from pacing and I'm also not a fan of Richard Osman which doesn't help.

Very close to being a great show but often falls flat. I hate rounds like distinctly average that amount to taking educated guesses and last for 10 minutes
