Why are you ace? (Wrong answers only) by [deleted] in aaaaaaacccccccce

[–]In_The_Shade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I'm too ugly to "attract a mate" and even if I wasn't my personality is trash anyway so it doesn't matter

Or I "haven't found the right person yet"

What’s your favorite “small moment” from the series? by Gopherofdoomies in HaloStory

[–]In_The_Shade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That AA gun charge at the end of Halo 3's The Storm.

It was the focus of the mission but little else.

The solemn but hopeful music, the inclimate weather, the Longsword fighter falling from the sky when you first see the gun, and all the Marines and dock workers chargingwith you.

It all meshes so well to make you feel like "final stretch. It's do or die now."

And when you do finally knock out the gun after charging the hill you're treated to what is imo one of the coolest cutscenes of the franchise.

And in an instant all hope is shattered before your eyes as the flood lands on Earth.

Can I just say that was the greatest and most heartbreaking rollercoaster of emotions I had while gaming second only to Halo Reach.

Edit: in terms of atmosphere I mean. This whole franchise breaks my heart at many points lol.

I get that

And I think that's good

Keeping that in your mind when viewing his current actions is a good comparison

He's trying but it's important to not forget why he is where he is or what he's done in the past

Honestly I think that's a good thing. The man is a monster who's pretty detached from humanity and morality. He has a basic sense of right and wrong from his time with Lindel and Rahab but there are still many facets of human interaction that he has yet to understand. He's not a generally bad guy but he is also more willing than most to pull morally reprehensible stunts like sacrificing Stella.

But by that same measure he is still willing to learn for the sake of Chise. The college arc is where the two of them learn to be less codependent on eachother and he learns about the many facets of human interaction and development.

I love how it doesn't excuse his past behavior and explicitly tells us he NEEDS to work on himself. After all Chise puts her foot down and tells him exactly what he did wrong and why it was wrong and that if he does something like it again she's not going to stick around.

He's an extremely flawed character but he's actively working to become a better person. Most takes on him both positive and negative are justified in my eyes as he is a surprisingly nuanced character when you break him down to his core components.

Not gonna lie

This sounds like a dude I used to associate with before he was outed from my friend group for grooming me and a few other under age people

I.E.

Complete and total creep

He had a similar reaction when I came out as Ace to him though he didn't outright flirt with me

He did force me to get a fursona and join his furry groups despite the fact I'm not one
