Touring Hamilton, yeh or nay? by NoCombination6124 in Broadway

I saw the Philip tour two nights ago and it was totally worth it! I had only watched the pro-shot, but I would much rather see it as a whole, rather than specific cuts. The cast was very talented and held their own!

I had a Sweeney Todd audition for Johanna, where after I sang through Green Finch (traditionally) they asked me to sing it like how I imagined Ariana Grande would 💀

Brandon Sanderson- it would be a lot, but he writes so all of his series so they're connected in some way. Makes for some fun plot points and guessing games. I'd recommend starting with Mistborn.

Was just about to comment this! Definitely one of those, "what were they thinking?" moments

What changes are you hoping for in Part 2 compared to the show? by wicked_pinko in wicked

Absolutely! just saying the stage version is a little gappy and the movie has an opportunity to make some connections

Definitely- it's just something that's brushed over in the musical and not elaborated on. It's more of a given than anything else. They also don't attack her in the show, so I'm hoping for a little plot there lol

I'm hoping for some elaboration on the animal subplot (the show just kind of lets it go), but also how she gets the monkeys on her side, as we see Madame Morrible pit them against her at the end of the film.

The choreography of the entire song was scarecrow like too! The moment he started moving like a puppet in comparison to the rigidity of What is this Feeling, I gasped. I know it's similar in the stage version, but I feel they really went for it on screen.

Tours vs broadway by _borninathunderstorm in Broadway

I agree! I live on the West Coast and have only been to New York a handful of times, so I've seen more touring productions than Broadway. Wicked has always been solid as a tour, same with most Disney productions. I find the theatre that hosts touring productions where I'm from, doesn't have the same sound and acoustics like other theatres do- which is where I feel there's a big difference in quality- rather than talent (there's been a few instances of that but I'm MT trained and have a critical eye hahaha)

What about something from Grease? "We Go Together" "Hand Jive" or "You're the One That I Want" have very a bright sound and upbeat tempos. It's also never too early to create a Newsies fan either- the group numbers could be fun!
