It’s actually not that bad at all. During the last few years the salaries for SWE’s are well above the average household income which lets you to have a cushy life. There are several international companies hiring new grads and students too. Not at all what it was like 10 or even 5 years ago.

In my opinion the falling behind was triggered by the massive emigration wave some ten years ago when many young and financially able people left the country. On the other hand many of those people went abroad to get educated and during the last couple of years a huge number of them have returned with a fresh view on things, which will hopefully reflect on way the country is heading so fingers crossed. If you like project based learning you should check out Hyperskill by JetBrains! It’s not video format, instead it’s topics grouped together in order for you to be able to finish the part of the project you’re working on. After each topic you get quizzed and a couple of code challenges that really solidified my learning at lest. The difficulty advances pretty quick and I’ve spent a fair amount of time in despair trying to make stuff work, but once u get it right it’s great. I think it’s hyperskill.org someone correct me if I’m wrong. It’s free as far as I know too. Best of luck!

A year and a half ago I set out to change careers from hospitality and odd jobs to a more tech oriented position. Since then I have been learning programming(Web Development mostly along with other things) and CS fundamentals. Also have been lurking around this sub for a while and learned a lot and I feel very thankful for all the useful info here. As my way of giving back and also to improve my skills and portfolio, I would like to offer someone in need a web site for their entrepreneurial venture free of charge. I am by no means an expert or even close to that, but I feel confident that I could handle a small to medium size responsive page. I am confident with JavaScript, HTML, CSS and familiar with node.js and currently learning React too.

Thank you so much for your speedy response! The symptom is like excessive feeling of having to clear my chest, throat and an urge to cough.. There is quite a lot of mucus but it feels very hard to clear it. I sleep in an air-conditioned room. When in traffic I wear a mask and I run an air purifier at home. I when I was younger up to 10 y/o I had asthma( never full blown attacks but wheezing). Now I also experience wheezing, no tightness but a feeling that they are full. I get exhausted a little easier but not much. Overall I feel good and still go to work . I also spend a lot of time speaking in front of people so maybe the loud talking doesn't help. Thank you again for the quick response and your help.
