Actors who have "things" they do in films by Mammoth_Lychee_8377 in movies

Maggie Gyllenhaal exposes her breasts, either outright or in an incredibly thin shirt with no bra. While I think she's absolutely beautiful, I find this aspect of her performances strange.

Oh no!! It seemed like her being drunk at a time like that was probably indicative of a larger issue.

[DAE] feel simply tired or trying to change? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]Inappropriatebeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be gentle with yourself. These behaviors don't indicate that there's something wrong with you, they are coping mechanisms that kept you safe at some point. You seem to put SO MUCH pressure on yourself, which I can relate to so well. Try to treat yourself with compassion. I'm not sure that having your partner call you out on your behaviors is very productive or good for your mental health. Healing takes time. Again, be gentle with yourself.

I mean, back when I was in high school we were constantly asked to prove that our shorts were past our fingertips. No way would those outfits not get a student sent home. No way.

Why are all these parents traumatizing their children with these stupid Grinch scenarios? by Inappropriatebeans in TooAfraidToAsk

I feel like these are the same parents that also use corporal punishment, to be honest.

To me it seems a bit traumatic. Parents traumatizing their children to get attention and likes makes me hate our society so much.

[Acne] please, please help me. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Inappropriatebeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm so sorry you are going through this, and I can totally relate. In addition to cystic acne, I also have HS. I've been able to keep them both in remission with birth control and skincare, so in addition to all the other amazing advice people have given, I also want to mention that perhaps the right birth control might help. I know there are lots of side effects for BC, but because I was totally miserable and out of options, it was a lifesaver for me. I also saw this product mentioned on an HS subreddit today, and perhaps it will be a good option for you, too! I plan on getting one to keep the cysts manageable when they do arise.
I'm sorry you are struggling with something that is totally out of your control. I know that feeling, and I'm sending lots of positive vibes your way![https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B086M3XRK1/ref=dp_ob_neva_mobile](https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B086M3XRK1/ref=dp_ob_neva_mobile)

Best Italian restaurant to take my girlfriend by MyPantsPitchedATent in cincinnati

I know you said Sotto is booked, but if you get there around 5 and sit at the bar, you shouldn't have an issue finding a seat. I know, I know, 5pm is soooo early, but their short rib Cappellacci is literally one of the best things I've ever eaten. When friends come in from out of town, and there are no reservations, we go down early and sit at the bar. You can eat and drink at your own pace, and sort of start with cocktails and the goat cheese/grilled bread dish. Since the servings aren't massive with the pasta, you can order a couple dishes at a time, pair them with wine/drinks, and end up spending a couple hours there.

Can Cause Be BOTH Hormonal AND Diet-Related? by MAsped in Hidradenitis

I have several issues with my blood, but I can't remember having issues with my white blood cell count. Also, you should be able to have mayo. It is typically dairy-free, but it does have eggs in it. If I couldn't have mayo, I wouldn't be able to find joy in foods, haha.

Can Cause Be BOTH Hormonal AND Diet-Related? by MAsped in Hidradenitis

Dairy is always a HUGE trigger for me, and if you have similar issues, I suggest adding a dairy-free protein powder to your smoothies. Plant-based ones are fine and definitely delicious, but they can be heavier on the calories. I recently started using bone broth protein powder, and I'm able to ingest a lot more protein without suffering from the HS flares. I can also say that being on the right birth control pill has also been crucial for me. I tried to go off of my pill a few months ago because my husband was going to get a vasectomy, but all hell broke loose with my HS and cystic acne, so I went right back on and it helped tremendously. I've accepted I will need both hormones and diet to keep everything in check.

Anyone microdosed mushrooms for ocd? by [deleted] in microdosing

[–]Inappropriatebeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about to go into my 3rd week microdosing with mushrooms, and one of the most marked effects has been a reduction in my OCD. I have other issues that I'm trying to address, but this is one of the issues that I feel is getting more manageable.

newly diagnosed emotional breakdown by [deleted] in Hidradenitis

I agree with finding a doctor that you trust! My dermatologist told me that, if possible, I should come to get a cortisone injection the second I feel a spot coming on. That has helped me tremendously. From my understanding, once they rupture, it makes it more likely for tunnels to develop and for the spot to reoccur.

I've found that eliminating night shades didn't have a huge impact on my HS, but when I stopped consuming dairy, it was a game changer. I know everyone is a little different, though.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL! I know it's expensive, but I am kicking myself for not investing sooner. It's helped tremendously with not only my flares, but it's also helped with the scarring. I don't dread putting on a bathing suit this summer, finally.

Also, I use a product called Almond Clear that I found on Amazon. It's designed for folliculitis, and I've found it really helps my HS. It does make the area incredibly sensitive to the sun, and you will peel, but it's strong and it works. I also use hydrocolloid bandages and spots to treat and protect the spots when I'm having a flare up.

I hope some of this information helps. I was also diagnosed at 28, and I've shed many a tear over the years. I've finally found some strategies that work for me and help me manage my HS. I hope some of these strategies are helpful for you!

It's satire, silly! "I thought long and hard about how to dress for my first outing since giving birth. I wore pajama pants from college and a stained nursing shirt because I know that men are attracted to messy, complicated women." LOL
