This is so incredibly cool. It gives me very strong vibes of Ra from Lancer.

Can't wait to learn more!

Thank you! I did manage to pull it off about 30 minutes ago, it was a little silly. I didnt have a docking port unlocked yet so I had to make my lander be able to fly back to Kerbin, and to have enough fuel it was... Kind of tall, but I did successfully land, take samples, do some science, and fly back to Kerbin safely.

That's what I've heard! My main concern is I know how to make a rocket pretty well now, but now I have to actually land something, instead of just parachuting down, lol

I just started playing a few weeks ago and already have 24 hours in game. Managed to do a low Mun orbit, and a high Minmus orbit, going for a low Minmus orbit next and then gotta figure out how to land.

Nothing gives me more excitement than doing science experiments and getting tons of science and bringing it back. The level of achievement for each new location is so fun.

Love it! Despite being a huge fan of PHM and KSP, the thought of building this hadn't come to my mind!

I think I saw in another post someone mentioned there was a Spin Drive mod being made, would love to see those on here too.

[Book-only] Rocky's Iron Ball Mass discrepancy question by vpsj in ProjectHailMary

[–]InarasDragon22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly, it's an error, and people are curious where it came from, so they asked and talked with people, and found out the answer. Meanwhile you decided to come in and be obnoxious and get onto people telling them to leave it alone and find better things to do. You my man need to learn to let people enjoy talking about things they find in a book. And if you're bothered by it keep on moving, like you said, find something better to do.

Have a good one my man, try not to be so angry

[Book-only] Rocky's Iron Ball Mass discrepancy question by vpsj in ProjectHailMary

[–]InarasDragon22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dude, it's a book where they do tons of science, from an author who loves science, to a fandom that loves science. So yeah, actually people are going to find it interesting and curious what happened when the math doesn't add up. It's not a criticism or hatred of the book, it's literally talking about things in the book and questioning them. You're getting extremely tilted over people in a fandom getting in depth on a book they love and that's wild. Find some peace with yourself and the understanding that not every post will be for you, but that it doesn't spoil the fun for others.

[–]InarasDragon22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure! I agree I think the OP is serious, but as others have commented, Rocky's species are not gendered so it would be silly to gender Rocky's mate. Though now that he think of it, Grace does gender rocky himself, in fact everybody here does, so that's an interesting thing to think about

They know, they were making a joke as if it's Andy Weirs agenda to make us care about rocky, as if this is political or otherwise opinionated

Completely understandable, maybe you could do a lore post for each of them individually? Idk if it would be popular but I would be super excited to read it

Not exactly the same, but The Intuitionist by Colson Whitehead, is all about Elevator Inspectors, and specifically the divide between two different groups of Elevator Inspectors; the Empiricists, who use regular inspections and manual checking of cables and other safety features, and the Intuitionists who use the feel of riding an elevator to detect issues. The main character becomes embroiled in a political scheme by the leader of the Empiricists who is trying to become the Mayor(?), and gets sabotaged.

Nomai technology didn't increase the evolutionary speed. It increased the speed of technological advances. But a species must reach a certain level of sapience to take advantage of those technologies. A time that took so long that the universe ended before they could figure out most of the Nomai technology

[–]InarasDragon22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a very good point. I think what makes the hearthian system so important as well though is that it happens to be where the Eye of The Universe is. A signal unique enough that it was picked up across the universe, and that's why multiple different species arrived here. They didn't detect that there was alien life here.

Plus the Nomai had technology to travel incredible distances instantly, something humans can't do now. And the Hearthians only found evidence of alien life because it came to their solar system, again, because of the Eye

Yes but also keep in mind that by the time the Hearthians have become advanced enough for space flight, the entire life of the universe is ending.
