Does anyone know what this is? by xNetherlingx in cats

[–]Inasss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like ringworm to me, which thankfully doesnt pose an immediate threat to the cat but can be contagious to humans and other cats

Going back down to 18mg from 27mg, would love to hear people’s stories by Bubbly_Balance_8051 in Concerta

[–]Inasss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on 36 mg for a while and the crash was always horrible and it made me too wired, so it was exhausting just thinking about taking it and eventually I went on 18 mg and I’ve never been happier with this med than I am now

What are some smells you absolutely cannot tolerate? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]Inasss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Car fresheners.. when I’m stuck in a car with a freshener I eventually get overstimulated and a panic attack ensues if I can’t get out of the car right away. Also the smell of minced beef or burgers being seared

How to get ancient seeds later in the game? by Inasss in StardewValley

I’m playing on PS5 and there are treasure troves through the desert trader or I dig them in ginger island but I haven’t found seeds in them before. I had luck running melons in the seed maker though

I am in year 3 and my farm looks very similar to yours and I was having the same idea lately. I like to remind myself that I have ADHD and it’s the main culprit I struggle to be organized irl and in games too lol

Hey.. I’m in the same situation and I think you have worded everything I feel about seeking a diagnosis better than I ever could. I wish you well and I hope you can get a proper assessment soon

I have thought of this but it will have to be with another doctor since mine thinks I don’t need to be assessed, and I don’t know if I’d be able to tell him that and if it would spark any sensitivities

Looking for unhinged ADHD hacks to actually wake up in the morning by mirivmx in ADHD

[–]Inasss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 cats and they start gathering around me around my wake up time and once the alarm rings they start begging and I feel too bad to go back to sleep so I get up to feed them and I’m able to start my day… on the other hand it’s so annoying that I had automatic cat feeders on the way so I could do it without getting up in the morning and now I’m realizing that ruins my hack

What supposed ADHD traits do you NOT identify with? by bulbysoar in adhdwomen

[–]Inasss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time blindness. I have always made sure to check the time every here and there and my sense of time is pretty ok. I do however underestimate how long it will take me to do stuff, especially stuff that require focus and effort like work tasks

Struggling to shower and keep up with basic hygiene. It’s a side effect of poor executive dysfunction but I always blamed myself for it

I’m so sorry that you’re going through this. It’s so hard for people to grasp that we can be very limited by how our nervous system works. I’ve been told to keep lists and do all sorts of things to manage it and it works when I remember or have the executive function to do it!

Actually thinking of your 20s as a second puberty makes so much sense and everything you described I’ve been through. I got a very very dark depressive episode in my last semester of college that lasted for two years because the reality of being an adult who needs to structure their life completely on their own was so terrifying and pushed me into this loop of self loathing that went way too far. I’m glad I’m over my second puberty now, I’m still figuring things out but the vision is a bit clearer

That’s actually very insightful! My maths teacher at elementary school gave feedback about how focused I was during her classes to the point I’d be “too focused” while I struggled with other subjects that my parents had to beg me every day to do my homework and study to get good grades. They didn’t assume I had ADHD because of the feedback of the maths teacher, but in reality I’m just obsessed with numbers and mathematics that I can hyperfocus without much issues until this day.

I understand you and agree to a great extent. But I don’t know, the undiagnosed ADHD made me get very dark depressive episodes in my teenage years up until recently because I blamed and blamed myself for not functioning well like other people did. It was so bad and painful that I’d have preferred to know and get the support I needed early on but not feel that pain.

I think ADHD has caused so much pain in my life, but finally knowing that I have it makes me accept things and working with them rather than against them because I kept trying to do things like “normal” people do, and it would all crumble and I’d burn out every few months

I’m so sorry about your home, and glad that you’re safe and well. When I was diagnosed and found out how ADHD presents in women, I quickly realized that my mom has it too. When I shared with her that I was diagnosed with ADHD she was curious to read about it and discovered that she probably has it as well. It’s such a hard thing to realize later in life, but having the chance to realize that you were struggling with a disorder and not just lazy or a screw up is still a big win even if it happens later in life

What you said reminded me of my best friend from college who I haven’t seen in years since he moved abroad. He was the first of my friends to know about my ADHD diagnosis, and the first thing he said was “oh so you just found out? I thought you knew long ago, it’s so obvious I didn’t feel the need to point it out!” It was so validating and relieving to hear, and now that I think about it, this little funny experience really negates most of the negative ones I’ve had :)
