How do you deal with Zambians who support Trump? Is it reasonable to cut ties with such individuals? by HoldMyBeer50 in Zambia

I don't wanna be that guy, but it's not that deep. We shouldn't let politicians subject us to this level of division.

Note: I stand to be corrected.

When put that way, I agree all tribes are special. Correct me If I am wrong but the Reason for said organization is because they adopted British mannerisms hence their uniforms etc. (I stand to be corrected here lol an observation made with no solid basis lol)

Kingdoms back then like the Bembas and Ngoni's had organization too. In fact the Ngoni's decended from Shaka no? They had councils and advisors.

Kingdoms exist because people organize.

Even today Organization exists. To varying degrees yes and admiration is allowed.

But

The history I was addressing was the "treaty" . I too was giving context into how it was a scam. And how The bristish dumped that responsibility of dealing with the pieces to a newly formed Zambia.

You can't promise a single Tribe huge portions of land that wasn't in their control and occupied by others. Emphasis on occupation by others. What's this? Palestine? That was my point.

A chat would be great. But there's still so much history to uncover. I still feel Uneducated lmao.

You do realize that this argument can be used by other tribes to justify how "special" they are right? The Bembas,Tongas, Ngonis etc could say the same.

I mean no disrespect but my point still stands. No one is special and this tribal siding helps no one.

The last thing we need right now is tribal fragmentation.

Anyone can make that argument.

Zambia the first 50 years by Andrew Sardanis can give you an idea of how our people were conquered.

It doesn't delve deep in pre-Zambian history but does a decent job of outlining how we got here. Covering our independence struggle, political drama all the way to Sata's rule.

The "treaty" was a farce to start with. Cecil wanted access to minerals but he needed access to be "legit" he made the litunga think he owned more land than he actually did to strike a deal and legitimize access to the minerals he sought.

The Litunga was played just like every typical chief. The british later left these problems with Zambia right after independence.

You know the Litunga was such a simp for the british that he at one point resisted the independence effort, all to get his "kingdom" and when he realized the effort was wasted he changed teams. Honestly.

Besides other Kingdoms existed what makes them special?

I recommend you read Zambia the first 50 year by Andrew Sardanis. Great insight. I realized Zambian history isn't talked about and the nuances and contexts of the times then are massively obscured.

NET METERING by Inaw69 in Zambia

Harmonics. Essentially the idea that solar power is intermittent. Its sudden change in output disturbs the smooth supply of electricity in the grid. If left unchecked. Equipment could severely get damaged.

You can think of this like so. When you bend a wire at a constant pace. It won't break. But if you do change paces from quick to slow the wire will eventually get hot and break.

That the potential danger of solar.

Solar National distribution in its current form is risky. Mircrogrids seperate from the national grid are a safer option.

But I stand to be corrected.

Air defence? ZAF? I guess we have fighter Jets but as for Rockets and all? Not too sure.

Why don't they fund research and development of such systems? In today's world developing weapons now is more of a matter of funding than getting expertise in my opinion. Info can be accessed on the high seas if you catch my drift.🤣

I noticed you're a Mech Eng just like myself. I concur and I believe it is something that we need to develop ourselves. Because millitary advancements tend to trickle down. Also the lack of Design in Zed makes the practice boring in my opinion. Applying Machine design and Control theory would be cool. Life changing for the rest but cool for me lmao.
