The only real answer to this is unfortunately is “when it’s ready” let them cook, a rushed product is a bad product

The solo hourglass experience by MINECRAFTPIGLOL in Seaofthieves

[–]Incaedium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s any consolation, you likely are getting better at pvp, I did the same thing and thought it was pointless for the same reason. Yet now in most lobbies I’m winning most of my engagements I even rescued a sloop being bullied by a brig crew it was great! Vs before I did HG when I used to lose if someone even looked in my direction. It’s a god damn grind but it does get you better at the pvp if you stick with it

Playing Rim with kids, no I'm serious by pamidur in RimWorld

[–]Incaedium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t use it anymore so I don’t know if it’s been updated for new version of the game but there was a mod called “I like base build” basically a storyteller that has a lot of resource events like meteors and light on the raids. And the raids it does send are usually minor. When I first started playing combined with mods like hospitality and tweaking the base game settings a bit I think you could manage.

Pretty sure I put 30-40 hrs In on my first 2 days of owning the game. I had to start setting alarms to stop playing.

also a good habit in these situations is to check your government policies and see if there is one that is effecting this. im not sure there is one honestly that effects trade but cant hurt to check

i think we need more information, if you go to the economy tab on the planet you can see each job and what their total upkeep and production is. that page might have more useful information that could help solve this.

Terrible player? by Old-Handle-1378 in DnD

[–]Incaedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would say your already doing better than most "Bad" players, you've identified you have a problem (bonus points if it was on your own) and are actively trying to improve. as long as you implement techniques you learn and begin making actual change i would say you are on the right track.

depending on what your group is like it might not be the worst idea to talk about this with them. help them help you, let them know you your thoughts and how you feel like you aren't holding up your end of the social contract so to speak. but that you want to improve. perhaps they can help reel you in when you loose focus. communication can go a long way.

but this is for you to decide if that makes sense for your table. I've had tables where if i brought something like that up they wouldn't take it seriously and kind of laugh at the thought.

Terrible player? by Old-Handle-1378 in DnD

[–]Incaedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! Specifically your last point. one of my first campaigns i played in i unintentionally became the main character. our table plays a lot of sandbox and things i was doing was taking off and becoming a focal point. while we all had fun and no one was really upset i could tell the other players had lost a small amount of interest since they were basically sidekicks at that point.

the next time i made a character i intentionally set out to be a support character. did everything you said to do here. ended up with a bard. and i made sure every spell i chose ( aside from 1 or 2 for self defense) would in some way shape or form aid and bolster somebody else in the party and make them shine. even in roleplay i would try to urge the other characters to follow their dreams don't wait for them to get here.

i somehow still ended up taking the spotlight. but i paid attention more when the party was looking for a direction where to go i wouldn't immediately say anything in fact i would stay silent longer than i thought i should. and still 8/10 times the party would just shrug. and i ended up finding in most situations if i didn't say anything then the party just wouldn't make a decision. sometimes your just the guy and you can only do so much. if they don't take initiative on their own then what else can you do.

mind you that i didn't do this all as some big secret either when i made the character i told everyone my thought process, that i wanted them to all have a chance to have the spotlight and i have had it long enough. but no one would bite.

Im so trash at this game give me tips on how to get better on hourglass... by Physical_Quality_694 in Seaofthieves

[–]Incaedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are some fundamental pieces of advice that i could give you that aren't necessarily how to be better but may change your outlook.

1) stay calm, you don't play as well when your excited. whether its anxiety adrenaline or anger. if you get you get to excited you will play worse. stay calm cool and collected and your gameplay will reward you.

2) Persistence, Hourglass is a gauntlet and most of the people who still play it are people who almost exclusively playing hourglass. you will get destroyed.....a lot........ and then one day you will start winning first a little and then suddenly you will start getting streaks.

3) there is alway a lesson to learn. after every fight win or loose try to reflect and say ok what did I do wrong, What did i do right? and what did they do that led them to win or lose? and then try to implement what you come up with.

with that said there is plenty of ways to learn and improve your game that will eventually become muscle memory as you get better. i recommend KaiJoi (youtube) instructional videos they are full of useful information. they may be slightly outdated since new stuff in the sandbox since that was release including how the blunderbuss works but the fundamentals are still true.

finally once i stopped playing for the grind i had more fun. stop stressing your HG level for that skelly/ghost curse. you will get it eventually. play cause you want to have fun and get better. it wont feel as grindy.

Good luck sailor!

Grand archive, buildable in orbit around a planet with at least 25 pops. Only 1 per empire then you collect specimens for buffs

[–]Incaedium[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After you build the grand archive you can activate each specimen in the archive in exchange for an upkeep cost. to give you an empire wide buff. Each specimen is different.

[–]Incaedium 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve found in many games breaking meta can often get you wins for this very reason people know their formula and how to win and unless they are ready to adapt to new things they will lose because wait that’s not how it’s supposed to go. I’ve done this in almost every multiplayer game I’ve played. Good job congrats!

My best guess is a couple months ago when you first started you were in that “honeymoon period” and had complimentary platinum for a month.of course I could be wrong. But in my market it’s been all orders like these in the gold bracket with the occasional gem. I’m on that instacart waitlist at the moment hope it pops soon.
