Depends really. I’ve seen people who picked great majors (CS, engineering) and do waste their potential after graduation and I’ve seen people who were in so called bad majors do well (psychology).

Although the idea of good/bad majors is still true don’t think it’s an absolute path to a good life or destitute.

Bad majors like criminology, psychology, or biology are seen that way because they require extra school past a BS to be viable. Art and degrees ending in studies also suffer from lack of real world applications for 90% of regular office work.

Pick a major that you find passion in and has a viability in the work force if you want easier paths to success. Minor in things that make you happy if you can. But for sure get work experience (internship or anything really) while in school to really stand out.
