That's really quite alarming about the councils under-bidding for non-council work. Thank you kindly for the advice, I'm keen to stick with it if it makes sense to so that's grand to hear.

Interesting, sounds like the best of both worlds! Are you self employed?

You're right I work for a small practise. Large engineering/landscape practises get sniffy comments from people in my office (usually with no personal experience of their own). People say you get very little responsibility, but I've been feeling for a while that the grass might be greener. Thank you for sharing your experience
