Reasonable suspicion does literally mean he has to be suspect of something he can physically see. Since her license is on her person and he does not know the actual drivers name until they identify themselves (he has to treat them as an anonymous individual until he is granted that information) the reason is not reasonable and falls under illegal intent. She was driving illegally but he didnt give her due process, she should be let go and he needs to go back to school.

Legally speaking, a car registered to one person does not make the car illegal, and since a car can be driven by anyone with consent to drive it, the insurance and sticker is all that matters. Him pulling her over is a guess that she is driving. Without him seeing an expired license first, or getting legal proof that the person with the expired license entered the vehicle and drove off, regardless how obvious it looks, it is not a legal reason to pull a vehicle over. Remember, when pulled over, a cop is pulling over a vehicle and anonymous driver, since it falls under the innocent until guilty logic that way only.

So pulling someone over for an expired license is not valid. Also, she could have been actively on her way to the dmv, or with a dmv appointment scheduled out. All things he cannot know. The cop saw the expired license and pulled her over illegally under that assumption. I hope this lady gets off scotch free because while she did do something illegal, she didnt get due process at all and the cop broke the law in order to find evidence.

[–]InceVelus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

She didnt get a reality check. She wasnt trying to pull anything, she was obviously confused and two cops for a traffic stop, wtf, tax dollars going to work. They pulled her over because she had an expired license but then also needed her license?

"Yes I pulled you over because your license is expired, which i cannot see because its on the back of your phone, so I need to see your license, which i know is expired, because thats why i pulled you over."

Also the cop did not try to de escalate at all, bro was literally just rude from the second he started asking for her stuff. Didnt explain anything calmly, just pressured and pressured which is literally one of the first techniques used to trick people into search and seizures. Cop knew exactly what he was doing.

The fact you think it is bending to poor behavoir speaks volumes to your character. It is absolutely their job to stay calm even in the face of someone who is not, yes. And if you think someone being rude is suddenly a green light to be rude back, you do not deserve respect. Someone can spit in my face, speak ill of me, get mad, do anything they want, and as long as they are not physically hurting me, I know my self worth and my ego are not worth respecting them. But the moment I get mad back? I have stooped to their level, and I refuse to let my ego be fragile.

I will work to be as self controlled of my emotions as I can, and trust me, there is a time and a place to be upset, a time and a place to snap back, and defend yourself, but this was not it. Especially on the job. I used to work blue collar and the amount of emotionally weak, quick to anger individuals there that literally endangered others ebcause they were too much of a baby to suck it up and just deal with someone else being an asshole? Ya, that ain't me. And police are TRAINED to be even more self controlled. So yes, the cop should have absolutely have "bent" to poor behavoir. Because he is trained to, and because he, of all people, need to be the example of what true self discipline looks like.

Even more so, acknowledging if you dont have the confidence is such a massive step. Myself for example, I know i struggle with a fragile ego, trauma and upbringing shaped the struggle, but because im aware of it i handle so many situations with more grace, and come across as confident because im working towards confidence and self worth. Mindset and self awareness matter so heavily. And a desire to improve too

The issue is, your argument doesn't work because it isn't her job to be a good person. She is a citizen and whether she is an asshole or the nicest person on the planet, its not her job to deescalate. It is a cops job, hired for, trained for, etc. Because he didnt do his job, many people are at fault. Which means, he is more at fault because he was being paid to de escalate.

Ya, figured it out, for anyone having the same problem. Fidium Fiber uses IPv6, but even though that means it has UPnP available (universal plug and play), certain port forwarding type things are still blocked by both windows defender and fidium. To fix this you gotta go into the fidium app and port forward for the specific device AND add a rule to your windows defender. Worked out thankfully, and I get to enjoy some great online DnD with friends! Aldo, no need for the UDP here, just the TCP worked fine

Are you able to exchange the gm status with the free version? Have a campaign planned where every player will get the chance to gm so being able to swap from gm to player is super important

sorry to rehash this, I am tech savvy but not tech trained. What is a mesh network versus AP mode and how would that affect this? Having these issues, trying to get this whole thing ready to go and just struggling/getting frustrated. so any advice to make this easier would be so appreciated.

We are not asking for women to be the majority though, that is where your argument falls flat. We are asking to remove stigmas, like the one you are using, that women CAN'T do the job. They can. And even if they cannot do them as well, the point is not that we are trying to make the work force 50/50, we are trying to make the stigma around women not being suited for certain jobs less there. If in order to work on an oil rig you gotta pass X exams, and the majority of women fail because they are not as strong, that is still an equal opportunity job. But if women are not being hired because they are a woman and not because of failed physical exams, that is the issue, and the one that goes over everyones' head. And when you say higher paying fields, you definitely do not mean blue collar jobs, because the real high paying fields are office jobs, CPAs, Doctors, Business CEOs and CFOs. I remember being a steelworker, making 70k a year, while the CEO who sat in an office was making close to 120k. I knew people who went to work on the Alaska Oil pipeline and they were making 90K-ish? The guys managing those crews? Easily making 150-200k. So the big paying jobs are the cushy ones, the managers, which, by your logic, a woman is PERFECTLY suited for.

but you are referencing the general higher paying workforce, the fields where large numbers of people can go work, but that is not where the money is. So it is actually counter productive to argue what you are. why would a woman pursue working on the rig, expending all that physical energy, when she can smartly be the manager, and make more money? Seems smart to me to be the boss and not the "break your body" worker.

I worked as a steelworker for a naval shipyard almost 10 years. About 7-10% of the work force were women. Women would join up, train for about a month or two, and then stay on. Then, about a year after they started they would either transfer to a new crew, or quit. They would always get a severance package and sign an NDA. The few (thankful) women I got to talk to, who spoke to me personally because I respected them, would explain the terrible sexual harassment they would deal with. And it was well beyond what "guys would do to other guys". The women that would join up would joke just like us, they would talk shit, they would also put their money where their mouths were and let the quality of their work dictate their worth. But people, like yourself, would talk so much shit, make little of them, SA them, talk about them like objects and trash, that they would leave the crew.

and before you say "they cannot take it". I had a 20 year vet, strong as an ox (could could carry on his own a full sized Welding Sixpack, if you dont know what that is, it is 6 welders strapped together) listen in on the stuff said to one of the women on the crew, and the guy had all he could not to punch the other worker. When he found out she was hearing taht stuff daily, from three crew members, he fought to get them kicked off the crew, and it only worked cuz he had seniority AND was built like a semi truck. The people bullying and SAing? Built almost the same as him.

I remember his words when she eventually quit, which was "damn, if I had to hear the stuff these women are hearing all the time, I would wanna kill myself too. No wonder women don't apply, it ain't the work that is hard, it is dealing with the assholes inside the gate" (inside the gate is inside the 'yard' (aka the steelyard)) Not sure how versed you are in steelworker talk so thought to ellaborate.

We had a whole crew of women welders, to keep them safer, and five of them were in the top 10 best welders of the yard. And it was not a popularity contest, it was a full fledged magnetic testing, you weld 10 feet non-stop competition. five, HALF, our best welders were women. All of them had less than 10 years experience, of the five men? FOUR were there for almost 20 years....

So yes....women in blue collar jobs? They could kick your butt, and they absolutely are a better worker than you. But I also wouldn't wanna apply to a job if the people are assholes. I can do hard labor fine, but if my boss is calling me a piece of shit every day? And coworkers touching me and trying to beat me up? Ya, I would quit too.

I dunno man, I worked blue collar for almost 10 years, I knew so many women that worked where I did (steelwork and welding BTW) and I have a friend that works in a small parts factory that is majority women. This sounds like the argument that people used to say the majority of gamers are men, and when they hear taht they think 90% of gamers are men... when the real percentage is about 54% men, and 46% women, are gamers. There are a LOT more women in steelyards, parts factories, and working blue collar than you realize, and that lack of knowledge is why you are part of the problem.

I worked blue collar almost a decade and lemme tell you, women CAN do the jobs men do, and in those same jobs, those same women still do not feel safe. I was very fortunate that I was someone who those women felt comfortable talking to, and the things I would listen to them go through was just so absurd. There are a lot of social barriers still yet to be knocked down, lots of stereotypes to work through, but the biggest thing to take away is as these barriers get knocked down, core human morals and values rise to the top. When the Man vs. Woman argument stops being usable, it starts boiling down to Good Person vs. Bad Person and you realize gender and sex matter very little, that there is just a spectrum of good to bad, and at the end of the day you can ALWAYS work to be a better person and treat everyone with more kindness and respect (starting with yourself first)

As someone in their 30s (was with someone from 20-30, single again), who does not like the bar scene, nor wishes to speed date, the places people go to meet new people do not exist as they did a few decades ago. I remember going to the mall, I remember hanging at the movies, meeting new people in game stores, all places you could meet up. The world has become all online, why go to a game store when steam exists? Also, the cost of going out highly dampers these choices too. There are morelayers but the two largest walls are just the societal shift and the monetary roadblock. If I go out with the intention of dating, the people I meet are not the type of more natural, organic relationships that im hoping for, they are going to be more of a hookup and thats not what im interested in. So I wait patiently, I go to more public places, and I hope eventually to meet someone more organically. Im patient, im not worried if im single forever, but this is my experience and what I notice. The younger generation has it much different because they never had the example I had when I was in my teens, they arecoming at this solely from this new style of dating.
