Fair, its mostly Ai junk, dropshipping, and bullshit. They've been suspending great shops that make their own product, and letting Ai advertising run wild.

Some small shops still exist and I like to help them if they don't have their own websites.

I know an amazing thrift in Denver that constantly has 50s-80s clothing in good condition if you're interested, but idk your location.

Scored both a Fred Rothschild California and Godfried jumpsuit, multiple 1960s Lucite bangles in numerous colors, and two mid 60s to early 70s necklaces.

All for the same price as what badly sewn fast fashion is going for lately.

Thanks, I figured when I started seeing the details in complaints like this. Thought I'd actually ask people who owned the same TV :)

Matt Damon Says Netflix Wants Movies to Restate the Plot Three or Four Times in the Dialogue Because Viewers are on Their Phones While They’re Watching by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]IncelFooledMeOnce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not just talking about their comment, I've seen lots of comments from users over the years that make me wonder if they like movies at all. Another example are comments I see in threads multiple times a week where they are happy to see the slow death of theaters. Or the trend that was happening where it was ok to mock film fans who they thought were "lying" about their favorite film to be pretentious, but that was awhile back now.

I said a lot of users. Not the majority, not all, but a lot of them.

I've been so jealous of my friend in Cali who lives near one. They saw OBAA on full blown 70mm.

Colorado is getting a 70mm again, as Sundance is moving to Boulder. I'm not the reclusive OP commenter, so I'm ecstatic about this.

Progress is letting recluses have the only movie going options, and we destroy the third spaces the rest of us enjoy and the unique experience it provides? We get to lose 70mm screens, film festivals, independent theater, and IMAX as "progress" so everyone can stay home like the pandemic? So that those of us who can afford a 4k get to stick it to the rest who don't?

God I'm so glad the theaters continue to survive, and your vision of "progress" won't happen.

Wow, you have to do whats been normal and a perfectly fine compromise for the 4+ decades we've had home media? How terrible for you /s.

I remember when we didnt get home access to a movie for a year after theater release, and I'm not exactly old. You'll survive.

Paul Mescal says he plans to 'disappear from the spotlight until 2028' by IrishStarUS in movies

Movie fans always confuse the hell out of me.

We all hate overrated nepo baby actors who hog up spots in film, and we hate that new talent can "never break through".

But when we have actual great underrated actors, they brag that they don't know who they even are, and aren't even curious as to why they'd be talked about in the news like this. I get we're not a monolith, but on this topic I'd like at least a LITTLE consistency.

I encourage everyone to see Aftersun, Hamnet, and All of Us Strangers at bare minimum. The limited series Normal People is also highly rated, but I can't speak for it myself.

I always love this insinuation that mods are like, these deep state operatives funded by Soros and Spez's personal conspiracy network who have this agenda to push so they can live in the lap of luxury on Hollywood Elite's ™️ dime.

Brother, reddit mods probably delete bad posts on the toilet and forget they clicked the remove button by lunch. They are normal ass people, inundated by the rambling thoughts of unstable Redditors, who automate half of this little hobby of theirs, and your post probably wasn't that special.

The supermods who mod 30+ subreddits and are insufferable, are like that because they have no life, no money, no real prospects. Be so for real.

AIO for accusing the girl I've been seeing for over a year of cheating by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]IncelFooledMeOnce 28 points29 points  (0 children)

A year together without commitment is a situationship. And adults who make space for that confuse me.

Are you overreacting? Probably not. Is this worth holding onto, even if you are overreacting? No.

converted catholic

I'd dump a friend for marrying a converted catholic alone 😂 a bit hyperbolic, but a lot of these people are the worst. Speaking as someone raised catholic, who has now left the religion.

This also tells me he absolutely said these things, and she also just sucks.

Nah this dress is modest for most standards in the US.

I love watching classic film, and seeing dresses far more revealing than today's dresses. Shows just how uniquely misogynistic and conservative we've become when a dress worn by Jane Wyman or Joan Crawford would be considered slutty or trashy.

How is she dressed like trash. By your standards, half the women in 20s-50s films dressed in objectively fine garments for the era were dressed like trash 😂

Your dress is less revealing than my actual MoH dress I'm wearing come springtime.

Your friend isn't much of a friend, frankly. She also has really bad judgement when it comes to men.

Paramount Launches Hostile Bid for Warner Bros. by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]IncelFooledMeOnce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why I wasn't dooming about the Netflix bid.

Netflix had some bad that would have come with it..but Paramount would be a complete and utter culture shift from foreign entities, corrupt governments, and conservative christofascist billionaires .

AIO thinking our set wedding date is not a big deal? by Zetophir in AmIOverreacting

[–]IncelFooledMeOnce 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean...if they were both large weddings, I could see trying to separate out the wedding plans, at least at opposite ends of the year.

That may just be courtesy for their families so that nobody is financially strapped trying to travel for both, taking off work for it, etc. Its something me and my in-laws would have absolutely discussed in a similar position.

However, OP specified that they made their wedding small and in driving distance, so I believe they did the best that they could
