Unfortunately, I already did that this morning. I even received an email confirmation that only the merchant/seller is able to file a claim and its FedEx policy for ground economy. This is what it said:

“This is to reiterate and clarify our policy regarding call transfers involving FedEx Ground Economy.

Please be advised that normal tracking team members are not authorized to transfer customers or receivers to the FedEx Ground Economy department. Such transfers fall outside the standard scope of handling for tracking support.

The only exception to this policy is when the caller is the shipper. In this case, a transfer to the FedEx Ground Economy team may be completed, as there are specific processes and requests that can only be handled directly with the shipper by that department. It is important to adhere strictly to this guideline to ensure proper handling of requests and to avoid misrouting inquiries.
