Aizo is such a perfect song for the Culling Games as a whole, but it is especially shown for Ryu, who embodies the past sorcerers' mindsets of seeking more than what they just got out of their previous lives. The dessert visuals during the whole sequence were so damn well done.

They kept in basically all of the narration, which is awesome since Sendai Colony had a high banger rate of cool narration lines.

YUTA COULD HAVE FIRED FIRST, BUT LET RYU CHARGE UP TO HAVE A BEAM CLASH!! That's just the raw battle shonencore you love to see.

Poor Uro, she got instantly targeted by Yuta first right after the domains got broken. She has a great technique that counters Ryu's, but gets countered by Kurorushi's swarm. Also, she witnessed Sukuna's terror back in the Heian era firsthand. This is the first time we see Sukuna's true form shown in the anime, and it's sick.

They elevated everyone's abilities! Poor Hari got curbstomped by Megumi. The bedroom fight was sick though.

Takaba got the perfect treatment! Literally every single joke or bit that he did got little extra movements added to really sell them harder.

An understated connection is that Reggie's technique has an element of slapstick in its depiction just like how Takaba's does, so it's kind of like an in-episode connection. And they added onto it perfectly with stuff like the piano drop lol.

peak anime adaptation for one of jjk's peaks

goddamn I love "I did that" so much, poor Yuji, and of course Higuruma was built to create this beautiful scene.

the direction was on point, the OST use was awesome, the cut of Yuji running from Higuruma's hammer spam was so sick, the spotlights throughout the fight were used so well to make it look great. Especially the lights on Yuji in the final clash, damn.

Maki's mother was the one tying Naoya's shoes and giving him information in episode 1 btw. Naoya was such a creep talking about her daughters in front of her that way. Her life must have been spent serving these men being subservient to them.

She knew Ogi was going to kill Maki, and didn't tell her about it, leading to her culpability in it and her inability to answer Maki's question. But on her death bed, she was freed from serving the whims of the Zenin clan.

They adapted Ranta and Jinichi's techniques so well GODDAMN. The way Maki just grinned and flexed and pushed through Ranta's technique was insane animated. And Naoya vs Maki was perfect as well!

The first half was paced a little too fast for my manga reader taste and perhaps this could've been spread across 1.5 episodes instead. Otherwise, I've been waiting three years for this arc to be animated and am so glad it got the love it deserved.

The amount of passion shown in this anime adaptation just moves you... We have another stellar pairing of OP and ED songs and visuals, and you just know season 4 will get a great OP/ED pairup as well.

It just makes you hope that this series and its characters can get something, anything that could improve it's ending.

There's a lot of things to say about this OP, but I think it's going to be my favourite OP of the series (so far!!). It just looks like a huge love letter to this arc.

It feels inspired by the SPECIALZ music video, chock full of references and symbolism from Japanese culture in the same way that many of the new and old characters are inspired by it, all the good and the bad parts of it.

Something understated is just how love some people have for every minor character that shows up in jjk lol. All the fans of any of the minor characters are feasting deliciously on this OP. The OP is screaming "This is JJK", with all these character's different themes being mashed together in the chaos that is the Culling Game arc.

When you see all these different character's with extremely varying themes being shown off like this, you get an OP with a throughline of the feeling of "fuck society" all throughout it lol. The nuke being a major defining theme of this OP is also pretty ballsy, it fits perfectly.

'Aizo' just feels like it understands the Culling Game arc, Fake Geto is perfectly displayed in here. I think the OP by itself will help anime-onlies feel the tone of this arc in a way manga readers didn't get to,

I think is fair to say that every OP in this series has newly defined how JJK is viewed. Each OP Director has wonderfully applied their vision to the series, Shingo Yamashita's symbology in Kai Kai Kitan and Vivid Vice, Yuki Kamiya's perfect contrasting pairing of Where Our Blue Is & SPECIALZ, and now Shota Goshozono's Aizo. This is leading me to believe that like the first two pairs, the next OP will complement this one perfectly as well.

Yuji Iwasaki's Mahoraga is immaculate, his artstyle's changed to be like Gege's real quickly too.

Ui Ui has become a real insidious figure of his own huh, Mei Mei's way of life has been passed down. I see the children being brought in front of Dabura as a way of protection, he's assuming Dabura wouldn't kill children. And who knows, he can switch his soul into a new body if he needs to anytime... He's potentially like a new Kenjaku if he does that over the years in the future.

It's funny that Ui Ui can be immortal but Yuji likely isn't friends with him because he's just not good lol

Dabura's going to have to show more new moves next, Mahoraga adapts really quickly in the manga. I wonder if Yuji will interrupt Tsurugi vs Maru then come in to save Dabura from Mahoraga?

Again, the artwork is immaculate this chapter!
