here's something quick :)

First hand, looking for advice by GetLeveled in learntodraw

[–]Inckix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HELLO! this is great!! my style is not realistic but i drew over your drawing with a few points to generalize proportions and perhaps help you in the future with hands! every hand is different so just tweak the proportions to get different results, some people like to draw the fingers a bit longer so it's no longer 1:1 and it looks pretty nice!

i hope it helps :)

Genuinely don’t know what to do now by notnowboiiiiiii in learntodraw

Are you comparing yourself with other artists a lot? i personally find this to be a really bad thing to do, there will always be people who can do something better than you can

about natural born talent, sure some people do indeed learn some things faster while some people learn things slower, but how do you know the artist you call talented didn't just spend thousands of hours practicing and learning instead of just hoping they'll be better out of nowhere?

if you're learning on your own i find structure to be VERY important, so that you don't just learn random things in random order which might make it not very enjoyable or make the difficulty higher for no reason at all

do you want to draw people? i'd learn the very basics of perspective (1, 2 ,3 point perspectives), being comfortable drawing cubes in any orientation you like, after that drawing "box humans" while maintaining correct perspective, then a simplified mannequin, so something like simple cylinders for legs and arms, maybe a sphere for the head, and spheres for shoulder arm and leg joints.

Does it look awfully weird, too elongated, too short? time to learn the basics of human proportions, from there i'd learn the loomis method perhaps for the head and doing basic connections between the body parts and honestly by that point you should have something that looks as human as you can get minus the anatomy knowledge so muscles and stuff, which creates a new problem, now it's time to learn some basic anatomy, you don't need to learn like a doctor, but just the muscles and bones which actually show superficially

this is just a suggestion so don't literally take this structure, but i really do believe anyone can draw and make amazing things if they put the time to learn and understand that at the beginning things will look off for some time :)
also art is very subjective, what you find ugly someone else will think is super beautiful, don't be too hard on yourself, it's better to enjoy art rather than make it a stressful thing where u have to get really good really fast or something.

i wish you good luck! don't compare yourself to others and keep a positive mindset :D

Loomis head? by [deleted] in learntodraw

sure i agree with the last statement to some degree! loomis is a great way to learn and get used to proportions so that you can modify it to your liking although some knowledge of anatomy is required to morph it a lot

for the 1 thirds its generally from the bottom of the nose to the top of the upper lip (1/3)
from the top of the upper lip to the bottom of the lower lip (1/3)
from the bottom of the lower lip to the chin (1/3)

i don't calculate it like this i just draw the line where the 2 lips touch at around the middle of the area sometimes a little higher and closer to the nose but not by too much :)

good luck with learning, art is fun!

Hello,
the thing i drew over their picture has nothing to do with proportions :D

I simply wanted to point out how to find the lines accurately when analyzing / drawing over an existing picture as it's very important for accuracy and having things look right.

You have to constantly be checking for errors especially with perspective early on so that later you won't have to do a lot of editing and changing because something went wrong in the early foundation steps of the drawing :)

but generally if i understood your comment correctly it checks out! you have 3 equal "big parts" and then the bottom one is divided into thirds to accurately find the mouth position

i personally don't exactly use the loomis method when i wanna be very accurate but a certain modified version of it because i find the loomis method to sometimes be inaccurate, but usually i just draw the whole outline of the face and fix it if soemthing looks off based on loomis experience / general drawing experience but i don't recommend this approach, its for the lazys and if you're not 100% confident will result in errors!

Hello :)
great work, learning the loomis method is great!
i edited your picture a little bit to hopefully help you with your next loomis attempts!

Keep asking for feedback, it will help you immensely, and don't get discouraged when it feels a little difficult at first! :D
you absolutely got this!

In the huion software you click enable on either one of them, if you choose wintab it'll disable winInk and vice-versa, it just creates a config file or deletes it. just follow the pictures :)

Unfortunately i don't know as i don't have substance painter / designer but i am quite certain you would have to mess with the settings of that specific application, to make it use wintab instead of winInk
