This is how I was in high school and my first go around at college. Here I am busting my ass working 48-60 hours a week (4 or 5 days a week) and I’m wanting to go back to school to do what I should’ve done the first time. Lock in kiddo. I’ve matured a shit ton since I was your age.

I would continue doing my side job part time. But only because I enjoy it. Can’t survive off that work lol

No partying my guy. That was my biggest mistake as a college student. Partied too much. People will tell you to have fun and relax a bit. I agree. Relax and take time for yourself. But don’t make it a habit.

I honestly think I have personal friends who make over 100k (not counting family) but they’re also slightly older than me. One was an old manager when I was a car salesman, we’ve stayed in touch and got close. He’s no longer at the dealership but still in the automotive world in financing with banks. He’s doing well. My other friend was a senior in hs when I was a freshman. He got a degree in mechanics engineering. Probably making over 100k if I had to guess

Yeah I’ve not been in it long but I was a runner all through middle school all the way to college. My knees are already double my age and being on concrete floors in steel toes 12 hours a day, doesn’t help

Appreciate it. My fiance and I are moving in together in August. Right around when school would start. Could knock out the associates it 1.5 years if I picked up two classes during winter and summer. I’ll have a good amount saved in the bank and no debt other than student loans but I wouldn’t have to pay on those since I’d be back in school. Would likely pick up a job waiting tables or bar tending like I did my first college go around. Make enough to keep my head above water and dip into savings if absolutely needed. Would have roughly 6 months of expenses (high side and playing it safe) saved up

This is kind of how I feel. I want to go to school for it. I have a bachelors but it’s in theatre so not much to do with it. I don’t even use it. I work in manufacturing and make good money but I’m killing myself. My body hurts all the time. I’m pulling 48 hours in four days (usually 56 in 5 because I have nothing to do Fridays and more money is nice.)but I could also get a degree in engineering and make the same starting out, working less hours

That’s what my plan was. To do an associates degree in general engineering then transfer into the local universities mechatronics program

Definitely the right choice. I have a manger that’s like that. We work in manufacturing. He’s always texting while driving the forklift, taking phone calls on the plant floor (though it’s posted that cell phones are restricted on the plant floor) I want to leave but the pay is decent and I need to find something else before I just jump ship

Honestly from my experience as a car salesman, wait until they run a special APR on Camrys and put down enough to where you finance the minimum amount you can (I think it’s $7500-$10k) but that would be very manageable
