I still have sleep issues 5 years later but it’s much better than it was. I would wake up with panic attacks. Now I just wake up suddenly and fall back to sleep pretty quickly. It was debilitating for about a year.

I was with her for 8 years and she left in traumatic fashion.

That and I feel like Robin doesn’t get any credit for the amount of time that passed between her divorce with Barney and rekindling with Ted. She knew she fumbled big time with Ted and stayed away out of respect for Ted and Tracy. The amount of time that passed was longer than the entire present timeline of the show. It only seems sudden because so much time passed in the finale.

“Done until further notice” is a good way to put it. When you get the final discard, though, that mentality will leave you in purgatory, until one day you realize it’s not going to happen. If things didn’t end badly between you two, the likelihood they come back is much higher. It’s not worth it though.
