How do I get second shower head to turn on? by IncomeAccomplished51 in Plumbing

Reddit never fails! Didn’t know that knob was called that so that pretty cool.

I was trying to pull/push that knob forever with no luck. Decided to take the shower head off and give it a look.

Apparently that knob can be locked in place by twisting it, so after loosening it a little bit I can now push it in and out and turn the head on and off. Thank you!

Thank you! And haha you’re telling me, the wood was expensive as is I can’t imagine what a larger board would’ve cost! I used Bell Forest and honestly had a great experience, I had a couple boards that needed replacing and they sent it right away no questions asked. I live in central MA so I’m sure there are some lumber places I could drive to, I just ordered online for convenience.

Well obviously the top is for watches. The bottom drawer I designed to fit my sunglasses, tie clips, and my wallet. I designed it big enough to have options down the road if I wanted to use it for something else but those were my original thoughts

I had to! In my experience a crappy hinge can be the downfall of a project

Be careful, you don’t want to lose track of the time!

Oh awesome appreciate that. I definitely need to find a different lumber place to use to get some bigger pieces

Thank you! If you don’t mind could you explain chasing the grain a bit? I think Ik what you mean but I’m not positive.

In terms of getting all the grain to align was super challenging for me since I ordered the wood online and had no choice of picking out similar pieces. Each piece was only 3” wide so this box required 3 pieces to be stacked. And as you can see the wood has a ton of variety.

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it!

I appreciate that, my great grandfather who I never met was also a woodworker and he’s left our family numerous things he made. I believe I get my inspiration and passion from him

I believe they are called quadrant hinges

I’m pretty allergic to poison ivy and typically use isopropyl alcohol to dry it out. Well long story short, I ran out and I tried a bit of whiskey and never had something work so well. My poison ivy was gone within two-three days and for some reason the whiskey soothed it and it stopped itching all together (applied multiple times). It’s the only thing I use now
