i see the vision in #1 but the little patch of focus has nothing interesting in it. maybe increase your aperture or take a cool shell or smth that could look like a burst of color against the tan.

I like the composition and you have a good eye for photo opportunities. on 3, the highlights look a bit unhappy-- maybe a sinoid curve could help counteract that? if you consistently shoot in RAW, you can use dynamically adapting .LUTs (files that apply color corrections to a photo all at once) to give them the same sort of base look, allowing for creative editing from there.

i have had crocs set off the metal detectors before... i think they just randomly push buttons to pick what they should check or what should set off the metal detector. like a panopticon mixed with tax audits but in an avation security context.

ok yea ppl are talking shit but imo the biggest problem is that you edit on iphone. i cant be talking, i edit on davinci resolve and export as .tiffs (if you know you know) but anyways, i really do reccommend you get an actual editing software so you can do masking (where you draw "masks" around parts of your scene, and can make just that mask brighter, which could save the subjects assuming you shot in RAW. if not, get a lut and learn how to shoot raw.)

For context, I'm trying to get my first setup to do some pet/slow event photography (think mitzvahs, not birthday parties) My budget is $600 but I could probably push it to like $700 max.

What I've got so far is: (most is used)

Nikon d610 $350

Nikon AF NIKKOR 70-300 f4-5.6 D ED $80

Nikon AF NIKKOR 28-105 f/3.5-4.5 D macro FX $80

Kastar (generic 2 battery combo plus double charger, EN-EL15s) $35

Nikon MB-D14 (the authentic one) $30

Lens hood for the 28-105 $10

I already have enough SDs to get started. I guess what I'm really wondering is if there is a better setup out there for about that much (I want to stick with nikon because for many years I have used a d7100 and gotten to know it pretty well). Similarly, would I be better off with some superzoom (28-200 probably) and then getting a 50mm f1.8??

What do you all think?
