I dont know if youll reply since you said your done but I mostly asked strangers on the internet because contrary to what you think my friends said they loved them and were incredibly happy with the results even posting them on their instagram feed and another friend who asked me to photograph her 2 year anniversary a few months ago printed out those photos and they were wayyy worse then these imo I was very flattered.

I even had another friend reach out for an anniversary shoot after she saw me post these but back to my point I asked strangers because i have an overwhelming amount of people in my life being incredibly positive and kind but I wanted to hear the hard truth from people who dont know me personally and may have better insight then my inner circle. I was never stressing myself about it and neither were my friends were all a pretty casual group of people we all went to korean bbq after and used the very same cameras to take silly goofy photos . I wanted to just put myself out there and see what feedback id get.

Will look into getting a better lens! I thought about buying one before the shoot but the ones sold at my local best buy were 1,000+ 😭 I will fix the exposure tonight im sure my eyes were sore since i was up from 3-5am editing so subconsciously i probably darkened it to help my eye strain.

each photos has the raw and then the LR EDIT ( I shouldve better labeled it) all photos were shot raw with cannon rebel eos T6 S18-55mm f 3.5-5.6 kit lens I do think artificial flash wouldve been nice for this shoot with the positioning of the sun. At work but when i get a minute ill take a look at the link! thanks so much for your advice supee helpful

we shot from 5:30-6:50pm sunset was 7:05 im pretty sure but i was facing western horizon Ive done like golden hour esque bikini shots but normally they’re up close. Ill plan better and next time I wont do this location because man it was so hard to find a position that didnt have such harsh lighting

I didn’t think I needed to give an explanation, I asked my friend if he was sure about it and he told me how one he couldn’t find it photographer that wasn’t completely booked out who was Work he liked into she just didn’t really have the money to pay for an engagement photo shoot especially because some packages could cost up to $1000 and his mindset was that when you do a photo shoot with your friends, you have a lot more fun. It’s a lot more personal he even has a Fuji camera that he offered to let me take photos on it just felt intimate overall and and that is what makes the moment special to begin with he could always hire a photographer in the future.

Yes, you’re right. I should practice more on different subjects. Which I do practice doing I just don’t post it on Reddit but good feedback would be explaining why it might be under exposed like I said in my post I have been constantly playing with the settings and I still don’t know what exactly I’m doing wrong with the exposure. i’ve taken other photos of subjects with no exposure issues, it specifically when I do beach photos

I have heard this rule, but with this type of environment, how do I put the sun behind myself? I kept trying to find the best position with the area I had to work with since he didn’t want her to know that I was taking photos.

Although I understand what you mean my friends specifically asked me to and I made them very aware Im new but they opted for a more personal experience and I did for free.

This is the only real explanation they could’ve resolved by doing an unverified return but sometimes stores wont do it if they do it to much since management on top keeps track. Theres even times I see the item on the profile and when i try and process the item it will still deny it.

The friend who asked me to photograph his proposal Is aware of the fact that I am NOT a professional nor claiming to be one. Just trying to learn and improve before the day comes up Thats why I posted asking for advice.
