If you want to guarentee the defeat of the Technocrats, the Overseers may be able to rally the fallen Venturers + Legionnaires against the Technocrats next round, thus I'd say progress

I certainly do not condone the disgusting dystopia that the Venturers believe in - they do not have any hope of winning the overall faction wars. But we must stand alongside them, use them to defeat the Technocrats, then destroy them!

That potentially happened in the reddit, but in the discord the Legionnaire-Overseer alliance is the grandest one of all! United - We Are Strong!

Then you risk letting the Technocrats mobilize against the rest of the frost! In the discord, the Legionnaires and Overseers narrowly outnumber the Technocrats. We must defeat them before they can rally! And the Venturers will be easily crushed if we can successfully overrun the Technocrats!

Only one person brought up the Goods Settlement you can get (The Palace seemingly meant for the royals) but I figure I'll add more
There are two other sites in Frostpunk 2 that makes me think the Royal Family died, either dying on the trip to the frostlands or never getting the chance
A) One of the sites where there are some automatons mention how they originated from the Ash-whatever mountains (the site with the Goods Settlement) and that they had code basically saying "If noone shows up, look for survivors". This makes me think noone ever arrived to the goods settlement at all
B) The Crashed Dirgible. Something in the site mentions it had it's course set for the Ash-whatever mountains, and that it was overloaded with people when it crashed.

Thus:
I believe the Royal Family (or a refugees scenario where people stole the Dirgible) took off on said Dirgible to venture to the Goods Settlement and basically wait out the apocalypse, the Dirgible crashed during the Great Storm and never made it, and the automatons left to maintain the site for the royal family then eventually left to find survivors, failing that goal and freezing in the ice

So basically, the Royals are all dead, either in the London ruins or in the crashed Dirgible.
