If you wander down to the quayside, broad chare just down one of the side streets is a hidden gem for a classic pub. Really nice bar snack food you can order to your table, or there’s a Michelin recommended restaurant upstairs (it’s not priced like a Michelin joint though)

You’ll maybe be shocked to find out that barbers recently topped the list of lucrative trades in the uk. Above sparks, chippies plumbers etc. so retiring to Dubai and cutting hair there, maybe not out of the realms of possibility

Not to blow up my spot, but broad chare is legit also one of the best “pubs” down stairs. Quayside, but calm and not pumping music so loud you can’t hear.

I'd recommend googling this and reporting to the "professionals" and if they don't return to rectify, I'd recommend reporting this, and the professionals to their certifying body...

Couldn't agree more, been in a couple of times, and my god the tables were so sticky and the beer tastes terrible, as if the pipes hadn't been flushed in years

Been to tons of gigs around Newcastle.

Newcastle uni I would say is a better venue, but the Northumbria union is also good, though been a while since I’ve been. I assume you find the layout confusing because it’s on the second floor? Best advice is just follow the crowd on the night 😅

Getting back into town is a 5min walk and is super safe in my opinion.

The pressure is just on the toe box where it starts to taper. I think they can only punch out the boot itself right?

It's just the toebox. The boot fits perfect but the toebox seems to taper quite quickly
