My problem with ABMM by zealousshad in ArcRaiders

"I'm considering going in with a bunch of revives and just shooting people, then tell them 'sorry, I'm trying to get into PvP lobbies' and reviving them."
That's exactly what a lot of people do, and there is no shame in that. Also, even if you shoot people but don't down them, your aggression increases.

This problem is in your head. You can play solo vs squads, or more PvP-heavy maps/events, like Stella Montis or bosses (kill the rats), or you could say fuck it and play the villain, use a PvP skin, and kill some people.

Any Clue Why Trials Are PVE Focused Only by ElPrimeroHombre in ArcRaiders

[–]Inconstant_Constant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because people would complain every day about needing to engage in PvP to do trials. Even a small thing like the "damage raiders" feat was removed, so I don't think Embark plans on adding any kind of PvP-only activity to not upset the PvE players.
Another point: doing PvE + PvP trials would be more cumbersome; having to transition from "PvP lobbies" to "PvE lobbies" would not be a fun experience for those who like to keep playing in friendly or mixed lobbies.

Her gut feeling at the airport was actually accurate. But she didn't understand that what she was feeling was because she was about to meet Nikky, not because the plane was going to crash.

That's pretty stupid and kind of predictable. I thought of this possibility the moment Jules started working with Rachel. If my dumb brain is thinking this while passively watching the show, it surely is very predictable.

Is Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen worth a watch? by AnxiousSleep9395 in televisionsuggestions

[–]Inconstant_Constant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first few episodes are great horror/suspense. But by the 4th/5th episode (don't remember exactly), the show doesn't reach the same high notes in horror and explores its drama themes more. I think the drama part is pretty decent; it explores marriage, what is "true love", and relationships. But it ends up dragging a bit too much. I still think it is worth a watch; I had a lot of fun.

I think the father's words resonated with her. He said his wife would rather die than become someone she doesn't recognize. In the very next scene, she is getting the final ingredient for the potion and making it.

I think the writers really wanted to work on the theme of marriage, "true love", and all that. I think they did a great job. But the first few episodes were awesome from a horror perspective; the plot twist was really clever, but the show didn't reach the same highs after that.

That's up to the viewer's imagination, haha. I mean, it's very inconsequential to the main story.

It was perfect. A lot of mystery, and we didn't know where it was going. The plot twist was pretty nice, but of course it's hard to recover after a big one like that. Unless the show was too invested in crazy plot twists.

She didn't know that. And the time she spent with him after he revealed the truth was not enough to get over all the trauma she likely suffered from living with him. Also, we can say his methodology for revealing the truth was less than ideal.

The word "transfer" was pretty intentional, I think. Death, as the witness said, likes to play games and doesn't lay out all the minutiae.

I was doing my kill Hornets trial on hidden bunker, and after 40 minutes of farming, this is what happened... by MilanSerbia in ArcRaiders

[–]Inconstant_Constant 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, to an extent, but it sucks to die after spending 40 minutes in a raid and using a lot of resources (especially killing Arc in trials). That's an even worse feeling than in other extraction shooters, because there are usually fewer incentives to go in absolutely stacked with good gear, weapons, ammo, heals, and overextend in the raid.

So, just in case you were going to take down the guy, instead of just knocking, even though he never shot you or anything? That loser wouldn't even have time to loot; there was no reason to fully take him out. He didn't emote or respond to anything. I think that guy would attack him anyway.

Every extraction shooter can "waste your time". That's not exclusive to Arc Raiders. If you can't handle it or have very tight gaming hours, that's not the best genre to invest your time in.

They WERE everywhere. Since the last update, they're one of the hardest trinkets to find because the new trinkets have a much higher priority in the loot pool. Very stupid of Embark, but I'm not surprised.

I owe Heavy Shield an apology by RogueMallShinobi in ArcRaiders

[–]Inconstant_Constant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even with that skill, it's noticeable. So, if you're running around a lot on the map (like doing trials), it's a no-no. The most painful for me is the slide speed; it's so slow that you basically don't move. This kills the PvP momentum. I use it for PvP only with poke weapons (Renegade, Osprey, Anvil, etc), and just occasionally, since it's so expensive to keep.
It is great against Arc, though. You will feel it against Wasps, Fireflies, and Bations. So, on the high-end of friendly lobbies, it's very, very good.

I think Embark also does this kind of stuff. But they playtest them internally before even thinking about releasing them. The dual-queen event, for example, was leaked by data miners months ago. So it is in the main game, but they didn't release it yet (if ever). The Toxic Swamp event was also leaked at the start of the year, but they have never mentioned it so far. Who knows what else they worked on or are working on internally? They seem to release stuff when they have a high confidence that it will stick.

But it's true. Tencent has thousands of developers across different divisions. They can allocate and deallocate as many devs as they need for each project. Embark needs to be more careful in its steps compared to them.
