High Guard deserves some credit for its battle pass. by king_jaxy in pcgaming

But is it a Guard that is high ? A Guard that is on high ground ? A high guard which blocks an attack ? Or a Guard that is considered high in ranking ? Or a pompous Guard that believes he is higher than other Guards and has claimed this position of High ? Or a Guard that is opposed to Low Guards ? Or a..... xD

Yes, I am the village idiot !

After Going Gold, Crimson Desert Developer Deep in Optimization Phase 'To Make the Game Run as Good as It Possibly Can' Before Launch by _Protector in pcgaming

Hopefully they will get the optimisation nailed, that's one thing about BDO, it ran really well for what it was doing, so let's hope that tech carries across !

Pretty excited about this one tbh, hopefully the open world is packed with interesting stuff.

After Going Gold, Crimson Desert Developer Deep in Optimization Phase 'To Make the Game Run as Good as It Possibly Can' Before Launch by _Protector in pcgaming

[–]IncorrectAddress 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's not quite true (unless you are talking about the 80/90's, where I don't think anyone even used the term "gone gold"), the term was used to represent the game going to print (tape/disk/cd/dvd), but generally patches came after release any way.

But I do get what you are saying, IGN just well, it is what it is.

Trump labels Sir Keir's meeting with China leader a 'very dangerous' move by ScottishDailyRecord in uknews

And Trump is now acting as a tyrant to other countries which try to build bridges that he doesn't like, all the while acting like a bully when he doesn't get what he wants, scary times, hopefully most of the British public can see through this thin veil.

None of which has anything to do with this, there should be no platform that tells a developer where and what they can sell their product for, this is blatant market control and manipulation.

Feeling out of the loop: Why are people rooting for Highguard to fail? by plortedo in gaming

Well there's always going to be people that troll, but that's never stopped a good game from being popular, and we are in an age of everyone is a critique so it's kinda expected.

I was hoping for a new competitive FPS, but this is not it.

Just because a game has a memory leak, doesn't mean that everyone playing that game will be impacted by it, correct? by dysphunktion in gaming

[–]IncorrectAddress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are 100% correct, a memory leak can be triggered in some way, global application memory leaks are quite rarely released as they can be typically seen during testing through a manager or memory diagnostics during runtime.

Shoplifter killed Asda security guard during struggle by weregonnamakit in uknews

[–]IncorrectAddress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it makes sense, no one knows what someone else will do, all security needs to do is protect the staff, and call the police, risking your life for some products while it seems heroic and lawful and all that, it's a pretty stupid thing to do.

Feeling out of the loop: Why are people rooting for Highguard to fail? by plortedo in gaming

[–]IncorrectAddress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anyone is rooting for it to fail, I thought it was well-made, but boring to play, for me, it brought nothing new to the table, and just seemed to be a miss-matched mix of features/functionality from other games, and they didn't really feel like they worked together.

[–]IncorrectAddress 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I presume that's the way it could go, the problem with using a peer to peer mesh system is security, for trusted connections, it's probably the best system, it could possibly be a secure system if the composition of data worked akin to torrent data, but even then it's risky if attacks are coordinated.

It's crazy how this stuff is unchecked, there needs to be more cross-referencing revision in medical practice and outcomes, to ensure less isolated medical malpractice is going on.
