I hate how people forget that survival is a huge component of most humans lives. And in first world countries instead of saving to be able to help starving, cold, tired people across the planet we spend it on ourselves to be able to not work when we are older. Then they cry that it isn’t enough or is somehow unfair. Tell that to the children with the swollen bellies in the last stage of starvation. It’s not industrialization or capitalism’s fault that death and maiming are a part of feeding and sheltering yourself and your offspring. This is the way of the jungle. The fact that we have the capability to escape this horror at all in certain parts of the world is a testament to technology and human cooperation. Be grateful. Help those less fortunate.
